Let Your Spirit Man Change Your Soul Man

Spirit Man

Many are not aware that the spirit is separate from the soul. This is due to the terms being used interchangeably. However the Bible does differentiate the spirit from the soul. It is important to know the difference so that we can walk in the spirit and not in the soul. The soul is made up of our thoughts, feelings and will. Our spirit has been redeemed when we repented and received Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. Our soul is being redeemed. Now we can walk in the new creation we are and not in the old. However most people continue to walk according to their soul man and so struggle with walking according to the spirit man.

Soul Man

Once we know that our spirit man is separate from our soul then we can discern the difference. Our soul is so familiar to us because we have walked in it all our life. Our born again spirit now wants to lead us but we fail to listen to it. God has made a way for us to walk in the spirit but we choose to walk in our own way. This is what Paul talked about in Romans 7. We want to please the spirit but we fail to do so. There is a conflict of desires that go on within us and we get trapped many times in guilt and remorse at our failures. We act like a victim rather than a victor. The solution is to know the difference and to walk according to the Spirit.

Solution

The Holy Spirit dwells in our spirit. Now we can listen to Him to help us in our walk. Our soul will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. In this way we begin to get changed as He gives us thoughts to help us challenge our old thoughts. We become transformed by the renewal of our mind. Our feelings follow the renewal of our mind. The walk in the Spirit becomes easy because He gives us the power to overcome. He will bring to our remembrance scriptures that help us in our walk. The devil cannot stand it when we listen to the Spirit. The devil has influence over our soul but not our spirit. Come let us be filled in the Spirit and walk by the Spirit and be changed.

Jesus Said " I AM" And That Is Final

I AM

Jesus said "I Am" when asked who did He think He is. What powerful two words. I Am means He is and there is no one else like Him. He spoke as the Son of God while He was on earth and revealed His true identity. He walked on earth as the son of man but when He said I Am, He spoke as the Son of God. No one could say that but the holy one of God. The people were amazed at this statement and many knew then that He is the Messiah. Just two words revealed His true identity. The I Am now has come to live in us. 

Son of God

What power is released through those two words. The Son of God became the son of man and lived amongst us. He revealed Himself to us yet many failed to see. This blindness clouds the vision of many till they see Him as the great I Am. I Am holds the whole world in his hands. Yet He has chosen to live in us. How amazing is this to know that the Son of God lives in us through His Spirit. The same power that raised Christ form the dead lives in us. Yet how few of us believe this and live this. 

God's Way

God has provided all that is needed to live a holy life. Yet we choose to do it our own way. We resist to do things His way. This has been the problem from the beginning of time. Man has always wanted to do things his way. God provided everything for us yet we preferred to do it our way. How pathetic is our state that we fail to see and believe. We want to gain points to enter heaven when the provision has already been provided. Come today and let the great I Am take over and lead us into the promised land.

All Ways May Lead To Rome But Not To God

Many Ways

In these days of mass communication we are exposed to a lot of ways to God. The plurality of ways appears to be good and tolerant. However the Bible warns about the broad way to hell and the narrow way to heaven. Yes it appears good to the eyes and ears to accommodate to many ways to God. Even Christian leaders have succumbed to the many ways approach to please the masses. The Bible teaches that there is only one way. Jesus was very clear on this when He said He is the only way to the Father. There is no if and buts about this. How much clearer can He be?

Man's Way

The many ways approach is part of the multi faith movement. Yes it sounds nice to be able to accommodate to all peoples of all faiths. However this maybe the way man would like it. Even in the Old Testament the people decided to have an image to worship rather than God who they could not see. God made Himself known to them through the cloud by day and fire by night. Yet they chose to make an image to worship according to their ways. God will not tolerate such apostasy. He destroyed them in the desert. This is a warning to us who think we are better than God. 

One Way

God has made His way known to us through the Bible. It is the written word of God. It was not inspired by man but by God. God used men like Moses to write His word as a record. Yet it is not just a record because it is a living word. It produces life. When we believe it and speak it, it creates life. Jesus spoke the word and the worlds were created. All power is given to you and therefore go into the world and preach the gospel. This power stands for authority. God has made His authority available to us. All we need to do is speak the word by faith and see the results.

See Your Weakness As Opportunity For Strength

Weakness

Many of us are aware of our weakness and try and hide it or adjust to it. It could be a addiction to food, sex or drugs. Whatever the weakness there is hope to turn it into a strength in Christ. He told Paul His grace is sufficient in weakness. He also is able to turn our weakness into strength through His power. We can choose to confront weakness or treat it as an excuse for many things. Food can be an excuse for poor self esteem. Many of our needs are satisfied through various addictions that trap us in a state of being a victim. We are called to be victors and not victims. We have a choice who we give power to rule us.

Generational

Generational weakness can be handed down in families. Many find themselves trapped in poverty, debt or lack. This can be reversed when we change our mindset from a victim to a victor. In Christ we are a victor as He cancelled all weakness on His Cross. Now we can cancel any weakness in Jesus Name and rise in His resurrection power to rule and not be ruled. This is an opportunity for change and transformation. What will we choose? God gave us free will to choose. Now it is up to us to make that choice. Our choice will determine the outcome.  We can move from a helpless state to a helpful state.

Solution

Generational curses can be cancelled in the Name and blood of Jesus. He is our solution. Jesus has provided a way of escape for us for every trouble we face. He is the answer to our dilemma. He will strengthen our weak places and make them a stronghold to protect us. God is our refuge and hiding place. In Him we can rest and be assured of our salvation from all ills. No sickness or weakness can over come us because we are over comers. Today turn your weakness into strength in Christ the deliverer.

What More Do I Need?

God

God is my Creator and He knows what I need. He has come to dwell within me and you. What more do I need now that He has found residence in me? Nothing. He has everything and because of this I have everything I need. All I have to do now is to share Him with others. This is how God establishes His Kingdom on earth. The more people come to know Him, the less darkness will be around us. He is the Light of the world. He shines His light through us. Now as His lights merge in unity we become a great light to shine in this dark world.

Light

Light is the only way to push back the darkness. Darkness thrives where there is no light. Jesus came to shine His light on us. He opened blind eyes and sets the captives free. His light will deliver us from the darkness we are in. There is no other light that can push back the darkness. What appears to be the light through different sources is just a reflection of darkness appearing as light. Satan can appear as light only to deceive many into his net. Therefore once we have Jesus we have the Light of the world in us. 

World

What the world desperately needs is Jesus. He will remove all darkness in us and around us. The war is between light and darkness. He knew we were helpless without Him. He came to deliver us from the present darkness. Now as we shine for Him and spread His light, we will shine and light up the world. We maybe few but who is greater than Him. No one can stand in the presence of God and not be changed. Let the light of the Lord shine through you.

Identity, Authority And Rulership

Identity

Identity is our sense of self. How we see ourself determines how we project ourself onto others. A weak identity will project a weak self to others. A strong identity will ooze confidence to others. However unless our identity is built on the Rock it will crumble easily in times of stress. Our identity in Christ as the Rock of ages means we will not be moved as He does not move. Any other foundation is shaky and cannot withstand the storms of life. Many start of well but in the midst of trial and temptation break down. We can see many examples of this in every class of society. 

Authority

Authority stems from identity. When we know who we are , we will exercise authority. Jesus knew who He was and the demons trembled in His presence. He just had to say the word and they would leave. We too can do the same. We need to exercise our authority when challenged by the enemy. He cannot stand the Name of Jesus or the blood of Jesus. We can use the Name of Jesus to overthrow the enemy. Jesus said He has given us all authority to go into the world and make disciples. Many times we pray amiss because we do not understand authority. The centurion knew this and so asked Jesus to say the word and his servant would be healed.

Rulership

Once we know our authority in Christ then this enable us to rule over principalities and powers and rulers in high places. We just have to say the now word to bind and to lose. We bind the enemy and lose the captive. In this way we will reign and rule in the area of our jurisdiction. We take over the land where our feet trod. We bring heaven to earth and establish His Kingdom where we are. At work, in church, in government and in every area where He has placed us. This is the way we rule and reign on earth. This is our calling and mission. Let us begin today and never look back.

I See With The Eyes Of Jesus, I Speak Through The Mind Of Jesus

Jesus

Jesus has come to reside in each of us when we came to Him and were saved. His Holy Spirit was sent to reside in us. Before Jesus ascended to heaven He promised that He would send a Comforter. The Comforter came on the day of Pentecost and filled the disciples. He came and dwelt in them. Now we too can enjoy His fellowship as He resides in us. What a revelation and a revolution this is! Jesus came to make us like Him. To see and do as He did on earth. He saw and did as He saw what His Father did. We too are called to do the same. Only through His Spirit within us can we do this.

Mind Of Jesus

Now we have the mind of Christ. What does this mean? We have the Holy Spirit in us and so He can think through us. When we allow Him to think through us then we will have His thoughts flowing through us. We then speak His thoughts out and His words go out to perform what it is sent to do. This is to have the mind of Christ. When we walk in the fullness of the Spirit we become like Jesus in our walk and talk. We are but a receptacle for His Spirit. We have died to our self and become a living sacrifice. We have laid our life on the altar and we now become His vessel of glory.

Transformation

This is the transformation we go through as we choose to walk daily in His ways. We can only do so as the Spirit leads. We are not our own. We have been purchased by the blood of Jesus. We have a new identity and authority in Him. Jesus spoke and formed the world's. We too can speak in the same authority and see our world changed for good. No devil can stand in our way. He has to give way to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. This is the good news the world has to hear as the sons of God are revealed. Today let us take our place and be who we are called to be.

Mind Blindness: I See But I Don't.

Mind Blindness

Mind blindness is real. Many times in conversation we cannot progress because the other person fails to understand us. This is a form of mind blindness. They appear to see and hear yet they fail to comprehend. Why is this so? This is so because their mind is blocked from seeing. How does this block occur? This occurs when people are fixed in their thoughts about a certain subject or person and can't see beyond their own thoughts. How sad a state this is! Blockages can occur due to different reasons. It could be that the person just fails to understand. They are unable to process the information in a way that they can understand.

Parables

Jesus spoke in parables. The disciples could not understand and so Jesus had to explain the parable using literal language. Many times we don't see what the scripture we read is saying. We get confused by the language and metaphors used. The writer has written the text in the context of the culture of his time. We use a western lens to understand scripture and fail to see. Our western images of eastern culture fail to get across the real meaning of what was written. So Jesus had to explain this in simple terms but they still failed to understand. To this day the Jews fail to see Jesus as the Messiah. Their spiritual eyes are blind. Yet some have seen and understand.

Understanding

We need the wisdom of the Holy Spirit to understand. We can have a lot of information but without understanding we fail to see. We hear that seeing is believing like Thomas claimed. Yet Jesus said we must believe to see. Is this a contradiction. Faith believes even when it does not see. Faith than is able to see into the supernatural and bring it into the natural. The feeding of the five thousand is an example of how faith multiplied the loaf and fishes. God wants us to see with our spiritual eyes so we can understand His ways and be transformed.

I Am A King And A Priest In The Kingdom Of God

I Am A King

God says that I am a King and a Priest in His Kingdom. Yet how many of us think and live like this? Most of us think that it is humble to be poor. However God is rich and generous. How come we have decided that we should think like man and not like God. Prosperity is seen as a bad word because it makes us proud. This is the way the world thinks. God said we should enjoy an abundant life in Him on earth as it is in heaven. Our poverty mentality has made us twist the word of God to think like man. This is why we see so much lack and disorder amongst us. Could this be true?

Wrong Teaching

Wrong teaching can result in wrong outcomes. This is what sin does. Jacob was prepared to sell his birth right for a morsel of food. How pathetic to think that and then suffer for it. Many suffer in this life due to wrong teaching. God wants us to prosper and be in health as our soul prospers. When we interpret His word according to our own thoughts we belittle it to our standard. We select words that fit our theology rather than what God says. How much we have to unlearn what we have been taught. When our minds are transformed we can see clearly where we have gone wrong.

Kingdom Mindset

Today let us return to a Kingdom mindset where poverty is a curse and not a blessing. We need to behave like Kings on earth. Isn't this more attractive and bring glory to God when His children rule and reign on earth? Instead we are satisfied in living in second class accommodation. We should be living a five star life knowing our Father is rich and loves to bless us. Our flesh will be against this because it is fallen in its thinking. I wonder how many will agree with me? Maybe most will condemn me for my lavish lifestyle. Well if you rather live in poverty, so be it. I will live like as a King because I believe He wants me to.

A Fragmented Soul Made Whole In Jesus

Broken Soul

We are all broken to some extent and need healing. The brokenness is in the area of our soul. Most of us pretend that we are whole but deep down we know we struggle with pain and confusion. Our mind is able to hide these things from us to help us cope with life. Many go through life broken and never enjoy a life of freedom and peace. This is the area we need healing but our pride keeps us from addressing these issues. We deal with the manifestation of this pain in relationships, addictions, mental disorders and physical disorders. Some of us take the step to confront the enemy within us and are set free. The process may appear to be long and painful but the results are immense.

Confronting The Enemy

Confronting the enemy within us is to confront the demons that oppress us day and night. Most of us deal with the enemy by blocking them out and immerse ourselves in work or sport or other activities. It is in times of quiet that the enemy rears its head. Some of us operate in parts and therefore are not aware of the parts that oppress us. We determine to only function in our healthy parts and block out the unhealthy parts. There are different ways we mange our pain but the pain never goes away. Those who have suffered major trauma especially will find it difficult to confront their enemy. There is no easy way through this but with Jesus anything is possible.

Deliverer

Jesus bore our sins and pain on the Cross. He did it all and all we need to do is avail of His finished work on the Cross. We were helpless and so came as our Healer. He now calls us to stop running away and to confront the enemy of our soul. Jesus comes as the balm of Gilead and soothes our pain and sets us free. In Him we are secure and in Him we are delivered and healed. Come to Him today and be healed and delivered.

Who Is Speaking? Your Body, Soul Or Spirit?

Body

We were created body, soul and spirit. We therefore need to discern who is in charge of us. If the body is in charge then we will follow our fleshly desires and satisfy the needs of our body. This is to be led by our body. Our five senses dictate what we see, hear, smell, taste and touch. Each of our senses will dictate what we do and we will satisfy our senses and be led by them. This the Bible calls is carnal. Our carnal desires lead us and therefore we listen to them. We are no better than animals in that sense. We never grow up and keep wanting more to satisfy our senses. Addictions sometimes grow from our carnal desires including sexual addiction. Nothing satisfies as our desires can never be satisfied. 

Soul

Some of us are controlled by our soul, which stands for our thoughts, feelings and will. Our thoughts dictate a lot of our feelings and behaviours. When our thoughts are in control then we become a slave to it. Some are so addicted to their thoughts that they become obsessive or delusional in their thinking. Our thoughts can be from many sources but we fail to separate the source and so own them. This is the way the devil sows thoughts into us and because of a lack of discernment we succumb to them. Our feelings collude with our thoughts and push us to commit acts unthinkable. Some even commit murder through jealousy and hatred.

Spirit

Finally a few of us are controlled by our spirit. Our spirit being senses the spirit world and can be led away from the truth. There are evil spirits that try and convince us that we can do things through their power. Familiar spirits can control us and we think we are right. We can be deceived and religious spirits can masquerade our churches and lead many astray. When the Holy Spirit comes to abide in us we can be led by Him. Other spirits cannot reside in a person who has the Holy Spirit. Those who are led by the Holy Spirit are children of God.

Holy Spirit Led

Therefore we need to discern who we are listening to. This is a daily choice we have to make. We can do this only if the Holy Spirit is leading us. He will give us the discernment to know who we are listening to. This is a journey and we will slip from time to time and give in to our body or soul. However if we persist in being led by the Holy Spirit then we will overcome and live the abundant life promised.

I Experienced His Presence And Saw A White Light

Signs

God manifests Himself to us in different ways. He is in the wind, fire and still small voice. I had an experience similar to when I first met the Lord in my conversion experience. He appeared as a bright light to me. This time I was praying for a sister who has been suffering with secondaries in her spine. She went for a check up and found more secondaries. She is going for radiotherapy today. During my prayer time for her I felt His presence and saw a white light. I wondered what it meant. I can only think that she is completely healed or will go home to be with the Lord soon.

Manifestation

God manifests Himself to His children. We need to expect God to do so. He said signs and wonders will follow the preaching of His word. We can expect healing and deliverance when we pray. This is supernatural manifestation of what we ask in the flesh. God desires to invade our world with blessings from heaven. This is how He makes Himself real to us. We will see only what we expect from God. If we do not believe in signs and wonders then we will not see them. Miracles are occurring daily around us but we fail to see them.  We rationalise these things and say they are by chance or luck.

Spirit

In these last days God is going to manifest Himself in our midst. He is going to manifest His goodness and many will repent and turn to Him. We live in days of His grace and He wants many to enter into His Kingdom. The organised church has wandered away from its calling to be salt and light to the world. God will work through individuals that hunger and thirst after Him. Just as He worked through Moses and David and other great saints, He will do so again. Let us yield to His Spirit and welcome signs and wonders in our midst today.

The Truth Separates From The Lie

Truth

What is truth? Pilate asked this question of Jesus. Jesus said I am the truth. Truth is greater than facts. Facts maybe right but they are not the truth. This is why many get confused. Most people think facts are the truth. This is how the world operates. The justice system operates on facts. Facts appear to be the truth till the facts are challenged in the court of law. The devil likes to copy the truth. This is the way he leads people away from the truth. We see a lot of things that are a copy of the original. So also our lives can copy good behaviour but that is not the truth. Many follow a guru or spiritual leader but fail to discern the truth. In this world we will be challenged by forms of truth that are not the truth.

Knowledge

Only Jesus said I am the truth. He did not talk about the truth. This is the big difference. Many talk about the truth but don't know the truth. Truth is a person. In Him truth is absolute. To have Him is to have the truth. His life in me is the truth. Now I can walk in the truth. Knowing about a person is not the same as knowing the person. Many know a lot about a person but don't know the person. Many are deceived through knowledge of the truth. What a sad state this is. Jesus said he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has life. This is the life He imparts to us when we believe. Without Him we are just following a form of truth but not the truth.

Eternal Life

Life is a journey and we all go through phases till we come to know the truth. Once we know the truth then nothing can take us away. This is how things were with the first disciples. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and with fire. They did not think about their life but gave all to Him. They received the truth as a personal experience not just knowledge of the truth. Before the Holy Spirit came they knew Jesus as someone outside them. Now they knew Him as abiding in them. This is what God desires  for each of us. He wants to come and reside within us. In this way we have the truth within us. This is life and eternal life. Jesus said he who believes in me has eternal life. Come and be saved by the truth and be saved.

The Great Cover Up That Keeps Us In A Prison

Cover Up

We see each other the way we present ourselves to each other. Most of us have over the years camouflaged our real self through layers of cover ups. This may be in the form of our dress, make up, language, class association etc. These are layers we hide inside to project to the world an image of ourselves. This is the way the world has taught us to be. This cover up we feel is necessary to hide from our sin. Just like Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden covered themselves with leaves to hide their sin. This continues till today. We fear being found out as to who we really are. Our sin consciousness has driven us to hide the distasteful parts of our self. This cover up continues even after we have been saved from our sinful nature.

Soul Transformation

This is because although our spirit has been redeemed our soul still needs to be transformed. This transformation occurs through the renewal of our minds. However we still spend most of our time being programmed by the world through TV and other media. Our soul is bombarded daily by the world. How much time do we spend with God and His word? Relatively we hardly find time to spend on His word. Therefore we tend to conform with the world rather than being transformed by His word. No wonder the world does not see us as different from them. We rationalise our position by trying to be the same to save them. 

Be Separate

God has called us to be separate from the world. How can the world see anything different in us if we blend with them? We are called to be salt and light to the world. Yet we are part of the darkness and expect the world to change. This is the dilemma of the church where its leaders are mostly conforming with the world. We see this acted out on different issues where the church chooses to conform rather than be different. It is time we took a good look and shed our cover up and be who we really are. We are kings and priests and this is our calling. God's word will help us transform to be like Him and not like the world.

Acting The Gospel

Actions

The Acts of the Apostles is the record of the actions that the apostles made during their life on earth. It is a record of the acts of the Holy Spirit through them as they were moved by faith to obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit. We too must act on these promptings. This is the way the Kingdom of God is evidenced on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus said that we would do His works and more when the Holy Spirit comes. The Holy Spirit has come and now we must follow Him and do what He leads us to do.

Holy Spirit

Acting is not difficult when we are following a lead. It becomes difficult only when we do it in our own strength. The acts of the Holy Spirit are supernatural. When we are led to pray for healing, we see healing manifested. This is an act. Actions follow faith filled words spoken in the power of the Holy Spirit. Why don't we see more of this in our daily lives? I believe this is so because we are led more by our soul rather than the Holy Spirit. The Kingdom of God is not of this earthly realm. It is heaven invading earth. When we pray we bring heavenly gifts down to earth.

Heaven On Earth

We must be doing the Father's business down here. This was what Jesus did. He only did what He heard and saw His Father doing. We too are called to do the works of God. This is to act in His Name. We are just messengers who deliver His message. God needs us on earth to do His will. We have the authority on earth given to us to fulfil the will of God on earth as it is in heaven. When we put into action His will, we bring heaven to earth.  Let us act the gospel in our daily walk and continue the acts that the Apostles did.

What Jesus Accomplished On The Cross Is Permanent

The Great Sacrifice

Jesus came to be the sacrifice for our sin. This was planned before man sinned. Jesus knew He had to come to redeem man. His redemption is permanent. However most of us still wallow in sin like a dog returning to its vomit. We have been cleansed completely from the power of original sin. The curse that was passed on from Adam has been cancelled permanently. So why do we still operate as if nothing has changed? This is because we are reminded of our past and think nothing has changed. We have to walk in the new life God has given us to experience the change. It is like we have been given a gift but fail to open the gift and receive it.

Gift Needs To Be Received

A gift needs to be received and owned to realise it's benefit. Most gifts are left on the shelf to be seen and not used. So also sometimes we treat our salvation as a free gift and then live like nothing has changed. What a sorry state this is. Many continue to live life as if what happened was just a phase or event. This is the sad state of many Christians who are born again but fail to experience the power. We have repented and our sins have been washed away yet we fail to see the manifestation of this cleansing. We still struggle with old thoughts and feelings. Some of us walk away from what we used to believe. This sad state can only be reversed through a baptism in fire.

Baptism In Fire

The baptism in fire is what Jesus promised when the we are baptised in the Holy Spirit. The baptism in water was to repentance and cleansing for sin. The baptism in fire is to enable us to walk in power. The two are separate experiences. Is the church anaemic because it has failed to teach and experience the baptism of fire? Today let us believe that we have been cleansed from sin permanently. The thoughts we have are not our own but sent to distract and assail us from without. We can choose to believe them or receive them. Once cleansed we are clean and acceptable in the sight of God. His righteousness is imparted to us. Now we need to walk in this knowledge and not entertain any other thought that is sent to belittle this position we have in Christ. Now we must be baptised in fire to walk in power over sin and the devil. This is our inheritance in Christ.

From Position In Christ To Relationship With Christ.

Position

A position is a indication where we stand. We position ourselves by making a decision as to where we choose to stand. We make statements like I choose to stand in Christ and not against Him. Some choose to reject Him. We have all been given a choice to make Jesus Lord of our life or not. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour we position ourselves in Him. This position grants us all the promises of God including eternal life. We are saved to be with Him for eternity. However this position does not say much about our relationship with Him. A position does not mean that we have a relationship with Him. Our position only indicates where we stand with Him.

Relationship

Relationship is an ongoing state that indicates that we have moved on from our position. We grow in our relationship. We don't grow in our position. Relationship is dynamic while a position is static. Many are in the right position but not in a relationship with Christ. This is a shift that needs to occur if we are to grow in Christ. Most are satisfied by being saved and go on to live life like everyone else in the world. The call for separation from the world does not occur. This is to walk after the flesh. Walking after the flesh leads to death and not life. Is this why we see a dead church rather than one that is vibrant and alive?

Jesus

Jesus has a relationship with His Father and only did what He saw and heard His Father doing. This is an active two way process. We too are called to have a relationship with our Father in heaven. We can only do this through His Spirit who lives in us. We are to walk in authority and manifest signs and wonders around us and do greater works than what Jesus did. This is what Jesus promised but how little  do we see His works manifested in our midst. No wonder the church has lost its power to be the head and not the tail. It is time we restored our relationship with our Father and be like Jesus on earth.

Jesus Left His Throne To Bring Us To The Throne

Jesus

God knew before we were created that we would fall and Jesus had to leave His throne to redeem us. Satan had already fallen and so had no place on the throne. We were created in God's image and so had a free will to choose. This God knew would result in the fall of man but He had already planned how we would be redeemed. Jesus was prepared to come to earth in the form of man to die and be the sacrifice for our redemption. It is beyond our limited thinking to comprehend the wondrous plan for our redemption. Yet man continues to reject God's solution and seeks other ways to be saved.

Christmas

Christmas is the time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus on earth. Yet most of us are caught up with the worldly way of celebration with tinsel and lights. God came in the form of man to redeem us. There was no other way for justice had to be made through sacrifice. Sin and its power had to be reversed. Only the pure blood of God could redeem us. Jesus died and rose again to redeem us. Now there is an empty tomb, and empty Cross but an occupied throne. Jesus has paved the way for us to sit on the throne with Him. What a wondrous plan of redemption to those who will believe.

Throne

Now we are seated on the throne with Jesus to rule on earth. We have been given the authority to rule and reign. Satan has been defeated though he is still the god of this world. We are in a war zone where we have to fight the forces that are bent on destruction. Satan lies and destroys. Jesus came to bring life and that eternal. These two forces are now at work on earth. We are on the victory side although it does not appear to be so at times. We know we will win finally yet we need to fight to win. This battle is against principalities and powers and not against flesh and blood. Let us take our rightful place today and be light and salt in this dark world.

We Are One Human Race In Different Colours

Differences

The differences that separate us are superficial. We are different in our physical appearance, psychological make up and spiritual state. Yet we are similar in the sense that we are all human and made in the image of God. So why do we allow our differences to separate us rather than our sameness? I think that difference is what marks us human. We are different because we are all individuals with a unique finger print. We are unique because of our difference. However instead of the difference making us brighter and better we allow them to separate us. This is seen through out human history. We have different classes and positions that keep us separate from each other. The rich and the poor, the lower class and the middle class, the whites and the blacks and so on. God never intended this to happen.

Sin

Sin entered the world and divided us into different classes. Pride which is the basic sin of mankind keeps wanting to be separate and different. We want to be richer than our neighbour and pride drives us to excel and be better. However there is a cost. The cost is a loss of community and unity. We are always suspicious of the intents of the other. We think that no one is there to help us but only to hurt us. In this climate of difference everything becomes a battle. Wars are fought to keep our race and identity secure. This happens in the family, politics and nations. Conflict is the norm and some are able to resolve issues but most separate.

Cross

What is the way out of this dilemma? I believe it is only the Cross of Jesus that can save us from our pride and greed and unite us in one Spirit. His Spirit can unite our differences and see beauty in difference rather than conflict. We all have different gifts and when we combine them as a body, we become a beautiful tapestry of His creation. This I believe is how we build the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. When Jesus is Lord, all things come together and His Spirit binds us together like no other. Let us unite our hearts together and appreciate our difference and see the beauty in it.

Is It Possible To Be Possessed By The Holy Spirit?

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a person and comes to reside in a person who accepts Jesus as Lord and Saviour of their life. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus. The same Holy Spirit dwelt in Jesus when He walked on earth. Imagine what power resides in a person who is filled in the Spirit. The in filling is subject to our consent. We are to be filled in the Spirit and to walk by the Spirit. However most of us continue to only be partially filled because we walk by the flesh. The flesh has to die to make room for the Spirit in filling us. The more the flesh dies, the more the Spirit fills us. We have to make room for the Spirit. 

Choice

God gives us the freedom to choose how we will walk. Our walk is conditional on our consent to the Spirit. The more we desire to be filled the more we will experience the power of God manifesting through us. The filling of the Spirit is to enable us to walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh. We know the difference because the walk in the Spirit is rest and not work. So to be possessed by the Holy Spirit is to be dead to the flesh and completely detached from it. It will be like observing your body rather than being in your body. We observe others and now we can observe ourselves. This may sound unreal but we all have experienced this at times. This is especially so when we are ministering to others in the Spirit.

Death To Self

We can be possessed by the Holy Spirit. We do this by daily dying to self and asking the Holy Spirit to possess us. This may sound frightening but there is no fear in perfect love. Eternal love will consume us and we can't help but be possessed. There is no other way of living an abundant life on earth as it is in heaven. Come Holy Spirit and possess me today that I may enjoy your abundant life just as Jesus did on earth. Signs and wonders will follow and many will be healed and set free.

Our Mind Is The Major Hindrance From Receiving Our Inheritance

Mind

Our mind is the central processing centre for all our thoughts. Our thoughts determine how we feel. When our mind is in control then we will feel in charge. However this also means that we are in control. This is the fallen state of man. Man wanted to be like God and so fell in his pursuit. God desires that He be God and no one else should overrule Him. He created us for a purpose and He wants to bless us. He is a good God. However we think we know better and question our Creator. This process of wanting to think like God is the reason we get into difficulties. In a fallen world we will never be able to think like God.

God

God has made us a way of escape from this dilemma. He sent Jesus to free us from this life of law and death. He gives us eternal life. Our life here is limited and so is all things created. We see this daily in our lives where all that we own decays and dies. Our possessions have a finite life and one day will rot and decay. We have to service our equipment to keep it running. God has promised us eternal life. This life never ends and is always fresh. It is as if we never grow old. He has promised us riches from heaven like manna from heaven. Yet we rather eat from the crumbs under the table.

Spirit

Our mind is so self centred that it cannot see the larger picture. Even if we do, it is rather limited. God is above our physical realm. He is Spirit. We were created as spirit beings and therefore have the ability to commune with Him. The spirit world is the real world. The physical world is just a copy of the real. When we tap into the real we become alive. The Spirit leads us into a abundant life here and now. Why be satisfied for the copy when the real is available to us? Come now to the river of life and be filled with abundant life.

The Word Of God Is Like Medicine For Your Body, Soul And Spirit

The Word Of God

The word of God is a person. The word and the person are the same. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word is God (John 1:1). This is a profound statement and encapsulates the whole gospel. Jesus is the Word made flesh. He spoke the word of God. The written word of God is a person. When we read His word we are in reality eating and drinking His word. When we eat the bread and drink the wine we are also doing the same thing. We eat His flesh and drink His blood. One is symbol which helps us into the real thing. When we come to the understanding that God's written word is the same as His living Word, revelation comes forth. Healing and deliverance follow this revelation.

Witten Word

God communicates with us through His written word. However many read the word as a work of literature rather than the word of God. The shift from the written word to the living Word comes by faith. We must eat the word of God as if it is medicine. This then becomes real in our body and soul. This is the transforming power of the word. We know how persuasive speech can be. When we listen to a good speaker they are able to convince us by their spoken word. So also the written word of God spoken out has power to transform us. This transformation is what leads to the manifestation of signs and wonders. God's word is powerful to move mountains. Speak to your mountain and see it move.

Living Word

When we take God's word like medicine it will be health to our flesh and our soul. Our spirit has been redeemed but our soul has to be redeemed. It is redeemed through the renewal of our mind. The word of God will renew our mind to see things the way God sees us. This shift is what we need to see in the world. The world has embraced false teachings that bring destruction and disease to our body and soul. This can only be reversed by embracing the truth. Jesus said He is the Truth. Therefore when we embrace Him we receive life. His life is abundant life and eternal life. There is no other way then His way to enjoy abundant life. Only eternal life can meet our need to live abundantly. All other ways are limited as life is limited by death. Jesus overcame death and hell and offers us eternal life in Him.

The Most Powerful Prayer You Can Pray: "Jesus Help Me".

Prayer

 Prayer is a two way communication between God and man. Jesus prayed daily to His Father to know what His Father wanted Him to do. Jesus only did what He heard and saw His Father doing. We too are called to do the same. Many times we think we can do things ourselves but this is called pride. Pride always wants to do it my way and not His way. This is why we need to surrender all to God and not just parts of our self. Total surrender is the only way to walk life in the Spirit. The flesh will always want to exert itself and go its own way. This was the result of the Fall when Adam and Eve chose to go their own way. That sin has plagued all of humanity since then. Jesus has made the way to turn from our selfish ways to His way.

Jesus 

 "Jesus help me" is a powerful prayer that acknowledges total dependence on Him in all things. Our mind and feelings and circumstances have a huge influence on us. They are still not redeemed and so we can fall at anytime. Our spirit however has been redeemed when we received Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. Now we need to walk according to the Spirit and not according to our flesh. This means total dependence on the Holy Spirit who lives in us. He will guide us in all things and we will walk in supernatural power. What appears impossible becomes possible. This is the heavenly life Jesus has made possible for us to live. Today call Him Lord and live. 

Total Surrender

There is no other way to please the Father than to be totally surrendered to Him. He will answer our prayers for He knows our frail state. Many unanswered prayers can be traced to the fact that we are still walking in the flesh. Our mind controls us and dictates what we should do. We need to switch from an earthly mindset to a heavenly mindset. We are seated in heavenly places in Christ. We need to rule from above. We are the head and not the tail. We are are victors, not victims. This is a shift that will enable us to overthrow the devil and live life to the full. Jesus made the way for us. Now we need to walk in it.

Enter

God Understands Like No One Else Does

God is all knowing and all present. We lack understanding and think we know when we really don't. Why did Jesus have to die? Jesus is God and He knows what He is doing. Why should a man die for the sins of another? Why suffer when God has promised us an abundant life? Some of the things that happen to us do not make sense. No one understands what I am going through is a frequent thought we have. We think we are unique to our problems. Yet God understands our situation. He is the only one who understands and can get us out of the mess we are in. We can then share the message with others. We know all about everything but we lack understanding. Knowing is not understanding. We read a lot and we see a lot but still lack understanding. We can read the word of God but still not understand. Jesus spent three and a half years with His disciples to get them to understand. When they understood He was prepared to leave them to finish the job of sharing the good news of His death and resurrection. Yet they did not understand till they were filled with the Holy Spirit. Peter denied him three times before His death. How much do we understand and think we know when we really don't? When we come to God He will reveal to us Himself. In Him we understand that all things work for good to those who love God and who are called to fulfil His purpose. He has an assignment for each one of us. When we are fulfilling His call then we do not have to question His purpose. He is in control and He will fulfil His purpose. His purpose is that we become like His Son, Jesus. We may think we have a job to do but His purpose is to make us like His Son. Now we understand because we know Him as our Father. We thank Him for all things that have happened, good and not so good in our lives because we know He knows best.

God Sees Even When Others Don't

God Sees

How comforting the thought that God sees everything and nothing is out of His sight. He watches over us like a mother watches over her child. God knows what you are going through and understands. He sees the longings of your heart. He understands your pain. He came as the Son of man to reveal Himself to us. He identified with our suffering and problems with sin but did not sin. He came to show us the way out of the power of sin and into enjoying abundant life. We can enjoy abundant life even when everyone appears to reject God and His ways. Yes the world will go its way but God is still on the throne. He beckons us to come His way to sit with Him on His throne.

God's Way

God has made a way for us so that we can overcome every hurdle and challenge we face. He knows our weak state and reveals His strength in our weakness. He is the Alpha and Omega of our faith. We have to choose daily to walk with Him and not listen to the voices that distract us. This is our challenge daily to listen to His voice through His word. His word is eternal and never loses its power. Therefore when we consume His word we do consume His life. This is the way He transforms us and makes us ready for Kingdom rule. His Kingdom is within us because the King resides within us. This is a profound thought but true.

God's Work

God is at work redeeming mankind to Himself. We are His messengers delivering His message to the world. We have been chosen to do so. He is with us all the time. Even during our down times He is there. Even when we don't feel Him, He is there. He will nor leave us or forsake us. However we must be vigilant not to forsake Him. The devil is our adversary and he will try to take us away from Him. The devil knows his end but would do everything he can to take us away from God. God sees and He knows and His angels will keep us moving forward and never backward. Come to the river of life and be still and know that He cares for you.

In Heaven There Are Only Answers. No Questions.

Questions

Now we see dimly but one day we will see clearly. This is so true especially when we think of heaven and the life in the here after. Many have lost loved ones suddenly during the past year. Many have prayed for healing but the healing came through death. We are left with questions and very few answers. What do we do when things happen to us and there appear no answers? I was nearly run over by a car but was saved from being hit. I never planned this but it could have been different if I was hit. How suddenly things could have changed and my life cut short. I lost a friend recently who suddenly took a turn for the worse and died within two weeks. Yet we rejoice that we have a hope that keeps us sane and rejoices even in calamity.

Answers

Many questions but few answers. Yet God has the answers and one day we too will see as He sees. We see dimly and therefore have questions. In heaven there are only answers and all our questions will be answered. How good to know that we don't know everything for if we did, we would no longer have to live by faith. Faith believes even when we don't see. I believe in Gods healing even if I don't see it now.  I choose to believe and not doubt. One day the healing will come and I will rejoice at the perfect timing. There are many things I don't know now but one day I will know. Today I choose to walk by faith and believe the best is yet to come.

Heaven

In heaven every need is provided for. We can therefore be rest assured that when we pray " Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven", it will be done. The timing on earth when His will will be done maybe different. Sometimes it happens suddenly but mostly it happens gradually. When we ask, we receive. When we knock, the door will be opened. Let us believe for the answers to our prayers and not relent till we see it manifested in our lives.

Beware Of Demonic Infiltration Compromising Your Faith

Demonic

Demonic influences are not talked about much in Christian circles these days. The demonic is real yet many churches do not teach on this subject. Many are unaware or ignorant of the source of their problems because of lack of knowledge. The demonic  is real and becomes more real when one is engaged in spiritual warfare. We do not fight against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers. These principalities and powers belong to a Satanic kingdom that war against the Kingdom of God. How do we become aware of this kingdom of darkness?

Evil

God opens our eyes to see that there is evil in this world. The police and government are placed to protect the people from the forces of evil. However evil manifests itself through people. People behave in certain ways that manifest the works of evil. We cannot see evil just the same way we cannot see God. However we can see the manifestation of the works of evil and the works of God. We cannot see the wind but we can feel it and see it in its manifestation. So also we need the gift of discernment to know the presence of evil. When we discern evil we can bind it and cast it out. This blindness of evil is seen as psychological or physical problems. The real culprit lies behind the manifestation.

Infiltration

Infiltration by demons into our daily lives is a reality. We see this manifestation in the sexualisation of all things and the degradation in society of what once was evil being seen as good. The present move to naturalise transgender issues are an example of this kind of evil infiltrating our daily lives. Many are forced to compromise and welcome what is evil and so become evil. Beware of the insidious infiltration in all walks of life influencing children, families and society at large. We are called to be holy and separate from the world we live in. However the church largely has compromised with evil. It is time to repent and be separate so the world can see the light and salt we are called to be.

Receiving From Heaven And Giving On Earth

God is Spirit and we are created in His image and are spirit beings in an earthly suit. We therefore have the ability to receive from heaven by His Spirit living in us. The Holy Spirit is able to lead and guide us in our earthly walk. Many of us think we have received through our human efforts. What we fail to realise is that God is the giver of all things. We breathe only because He allows it. We are only a breath away from death. Our physical body is just a house  where His Spirit dwells in our spirit. We are eternal beings in our spirit. Therefore we are able to receive from God who is Spirit. Just as Jesus multiplied  bread and fed the multitudes so also we can receive from heaven and multiply what little we have. God multiples as we give away what we have.

This is the principle of heaven. When we give, we don't just receive but we multiply what we give. In this way we are able to meet the needs of others around us. Jesus demonstrated this principle on earth as He looked to His Father for all things. He received in His Spirit and then gave it away in the physical. He multiplied the fish and the bread. He healed the sick. He opened the eyes of the blind. He set the captive free. This same principle works for us. We must receive from heaven through His Spirit and then be a channel of His provision. This is spiritual manna that never dies. It nourishes and flourishes where it is sown. We must receive heavenly manna to provide food that lasts. What is physical is temporary. What is of the Spirit is eternal.

God's resources in heaven are limitless. Yet we compete for the limited resources on earth. How poor we are that we neglect the unseen for the seen. God has already provided for us but we rather work and labour for our daily bread. How different life can be when we look to God as our Provider. When we look to Him we become like Him. This is a shift that occurs when we put our faith in Him and not in what we see. This is what it means to walk by faith and not by sight. We need to see with our eyes of faith to receive from heaven. Once we do, we become like Jesus on earth. Our talk and walk will be like Him. This is how God created us but we have gone our own way and trusted in our own strength. It is time to repent and get back to our calling of living as sons of God.
