Will You Welcome Jesus Into Your Home Today? If Not Why Not?

Question

This is a confronting question but worth asking. How will things have to change if Jesus came home to stay? Will my daily routines have to change? Will my friendships have to change? Will my talk have to change? What about what I watch on television and online? Maybe we have to do an audit to see how much change we will have to make  if Jesus moves in. However He lives in us. He is resident in our life through the Holy Spirit. Yet most of the time we are not aware of His presence or are we? Jesus said He had no place to lay His head down. Why was this so? People were happy to follow Him from a distance but when persecution came they all left  Him.

Lordship

Has anything changed today? Are we happy to have Jesus to meet our needs but keep Him at a distance? Many call Him Lord but do we really understand what it means to say He is Lord? Our conscience has been so seared by the culture we live in that we don't even know what sin is! We have accommodated to the culture we live in and nothing appears to upset us. We do things all in the name of tolerance and love. Is it loving to tolerate evil? Yet this is what we are doing in our churches. We have a good time and hear nice messages that keep us comfortable and warm. Jesus came to upset the status quo. He did not bring peace but division. So what was the peace He was talking about?

Audit

In this world we will face challenges that will confront us and we have to make a choice for good or evil. There is no compromise as compromise means we have given in to evil. We cannot compromise with sin. We cannot cover it with nice clothes and perfume. It is still sin. It is time for us to do an audit and ask ourselves the question. Will Jesus be comfortable to live with us or will He be left outside? I am challenged by this question and have to do a daily audit to stop doing things which I know I will not do or say if Jesus is in my home. Judge yourself is a good way to start the process of cleaning up my own house. His peace is real when we make Him Lord.

Believers Are In The World But Not Of The World

World

This world is not our home. Our home is in heaven and we are just visiting down here. This may sound weird to some who live as if this world is all there is. In Christ we have been saved out of this world and become part of the Kingdom of God. Our Kingdom is of another realm. Jesus said this when he responded to Pilate and said His Kingdom is not of this earth. We too must live life like this, so that we can win many over to the Kingdom of God. However we don't see this difference between the world and the church today. The church has allowed the world to lead the way rather than the our way round. We see this in all areas of life where compromise has caused the church to bend to the demands of worldly demands.

Present Culture

This is the challenge we face daily as believers. The present culture is anti Christ and we have to choose if we will conform or challenge. If we choose to challenge the system we will be faced with penalties. This may lead to loss of jobs and reputation. If we decide to take a stand on issues like abortion, same sex marriage or trans culture we will be faced with hostility. What do we do then? We are called to be light and salt in our culture. How can we be light and salt if we are no different from the culture we live in? We are called to be separate from the world in the way we lead our life. How can one work in a culture that has different values to one that we believe in?

Taking A Stand

These are challenges we will all face and we have to make a choice. I made a choice and got into trouble for it. However I took a stand and challenged the system. Many have followed and now we wait to see the progress in how the government will respond to the challenge. Believers have to stand up for what they believe in. Compromise appears to be friendly and tolerant but like the frog in a boiling pot will soon die. Light cannot mix with darkness. We can be friendly but if standing for truth offends than that will be a choice we have to make. The Kingdom of God will suffer violence but we must stand and be firm in what we believe. There is no other way to resist the slow tide of decay and demoralisation.

The Problem With The Human Condition Is Not Psychological But Spiritual.

Human Condition

Many have tried to make a case for the human condition which is struggling to understand the good and evil in a person. Most have looked for biological reasons and even come up with theories to understand this psychologically. However none of these theories hold water as the basic reason for this is spiritual. The Bible clearly describes the human condition in no uncertain terms. Sin is a problem and there is no solution to sin than the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. Many see this as a easy solution but God who created us also provided a solution. Why then do humans try to  come up with another explanation? Man has always desired to be in control and through this need is driven to make sense of the dilemma we find ourselves in.

God's Solution

This has been the problem from the beginning. Our fallen nature rejects the need for another. We were made in the image of God and therefore are able to fathom into the depths of creation. However we fail to understand that we are still His creation and not the Creator. In this fallacy lies the problem of man and so the development of different theories for our existence. God has provided a simple answer but we reject it at our cost. The cost is eternal death rather than eternal life. God knew the nature of man and so planned that His Son would be sent to die to reverse the curse of sin. 

Jesus

The solution is before us but we have to choose to accept His solution. Our pride blinds us to the simple but profound plan of redemption. We choose the complicated and complex theories rather than accept what is plain and free. Man has always limited himself because we are of this world. God is Spirit and those who come to Him must come by faith and not reason. Reason will not open our eyes to see. Only faith in a loving God can open our eyes to see the splendour and majesty of God. Come today and be blessed through Jesus and be saved from eternal death to eternal life.

Baptisms. How Many?

Water

The Bible mentions baptisms that sometimes are all boxed into one. I believe there are separate baptisms and each has a power and revelation. Traditional churches focus on infant baptism but this is only a ritual to receiving more as a person becomes mature in the faith. The first baptism mentioned is the water baptism. This is to follow repentance and receiving Jesus as Saviour and Lord. It is a public declaration of death and resurrection into new life in Christ. Our spirit is born again and we now are able to walk in the spirit. Most evangelical teaching would stop at this and rest satisfied with this baptism.

Spirit

However there is a baptism in the Spirit that is a further step in the walk in the spirit. Jesus baptises in the Spirit and Fire. The baptism in the Spirit is usually manifested in speaking in tongues. This is what happened at Pentecost when the Spirit filled the first disciples. This is the same today when we are filled in the Spirit. Taking control of our tongue is significant because it is the rudder to our life. What we speak influences us and others. The consecration of our tongue is a manifestation of how the Spirit works. We now have a gift that enables us to talk directly to God. It bypasses our mind but understanding comes as our tongue gets interpreted. God reveals His mind to us and it comes in the form of a revelation. This is my experience.

Fire

Finally there is the baptism in fire. Fire connotes burning. Fire burns all the dross in our life. It purifies us. All that is not holy is burnt out of us. God dwells in a fireplace. He is holy and we now also are set on fire. Fire also empowers. This means that there is a power released to move mountains. Fire power can drive demons out and purify the habitation. If we want to see God move amongst us in power we need the fire of God in us. There is warmth and love that burns like fire. Fire also brings light in darkness. Nothing of darkness can reside in darkness. Darkness will be exposed in the light. All that is corrupt will be exposed. We need the baptism in fire to move forward in God.

How To Love Your Family, Friends And Enemies

Conflict

In this broken world we live in many are the reasons for conflict and discord. Our sense of justice and right have been so damaged that sometimes one wonders where we truly belong! We see the same conflicts being acted out in families and society at large. Every area of life has been infected with the virus of death. Broken relationships are so prevalent that many nations now are in conflict. Conflict only brings more fear and destruction and can never solve problems. We need to find ways to love rather than hate each other. Knowledge is good but failure to apply it leads to nothing. We know what is right but fail to do it. In this is the base for a lot of problems.

Demonic Strategy

The god of this world desires to steal, kill and destroy. Many are unaware of his designs. Most are blind to the spiritual dimension that affects our daily life. Once we see the demonic activity behind many problems, our perceptions change. Instead of playing the blame game we begin to discern the spirit behind a person that is feeding the conflict. This is a game changer. I no longer see others as out to destroy me but see them as being used by demonic powers. I now begin to bind those forces behind a person that is driving their behaviour. This is a change in strategy in dealing with conflicts. We attack the situation from a different dimension than the human dimension. This applies to all areas of life.

Jesus Strategy

Jesus came to destroy the works of the evil one. He exercised authority over them. They could not act out in His presence. They would scream at Him to leave them alone. We have been given the same authority to bind and to loose. Once we realise that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but spiritual, it changes everything. We begin to get down on our knees to tap into the resources of heaven to deal with the situations on earth. Wars have been won through this strategy. Enemies have been won over and sinners have come to repentance. What a different world we will live in when we begin to do this in our world.

Your Perception Can Mar Your Sense Of Reality

Perception

Perception is the reception of your mind to see things the way you perceive them. Your senses see or hear and your mind interprets what you see and hear and this is perception. The interpretation of your sense is what leads to your sense of reality. I can perceive an object as beautiful but another person may see it as ugly. How is this possible? This is possible because what we perceive depends on how we interpret reality. Reality is a state of mind. My reality maybe different from yours. This is why we have so many opinions about issues and persons. This maybe confusing but this is how we interpret reality. What then is real?

Reality

What is real many times turns out to be fake because our perceptions have deceived us. Reality is a perception and can be challenged. However there are general rules we need to follow. A red light is a red light unless you are colour blind. One who is colour blind will refute this reality. Once people thought the world was flat till the facts were challenged and now we believe the world is round. However there are still people who think that the world is flat! This is all to do with perception. Your reality is your perception. Some can be so fixed in their thinking that they are deluded. We label this as a psychosis. Our mind is so complex and needs constant attention to renew it.

Bible 

The Bible says we are transformed by the renewal of our mind. What we have been taught has to be renewed through the word of God. We are programmed in this fallen world to think and perceive in certain ways. The word of God comes to challenge this view. Some believe God causes sickness and disease. The Bible states that the devil causes sickness and disease. This change in thinking will cause us to believe for healing rather than accept the sickness. This is a change of perception. I once perceived my sickness as trouble now I see it as an opportunity for healing. Reality has changed the way I deal with sickness. I now believe for divine health rather than sickness.

Knowledge Without Understanding Is Useless

Knowledge

In this world we have a lot of knowledge about things and matters to do with our physical world. This is good but a lot of knowledge without understanding does no one any good. I may know a lot about the workings of a motor car engine but what use is it if I can't apply what I know practically? Knowledge in itself is not bad but has no power to change me if I fail to understand what I know. This lack of understanding blinds people to the truth. This can be applied in all areas of our life especially to our spiritual world. We know a lot about God but do not know Him as a person.

Understanding

We were born again in our spirit. This means that once our spirit was dead but in Jesus our spirit has come alive. We have a new spirit in us. Many are satisfied with this position and do not go any further. However God has more for us then just having a new spirit. He desires to give us His own Holy Spirit to indwell us. This is called the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the manifestation in tongues. Few either lack this knowledge or refuse to accept that this is required to live an abundant life. It is only by revelation that one becomes aware of the need to be baptised in the Spirit. 

Application

When we read the scriptures we can read it as an inspiring word. However His word becomes flesh when we understand and receive His word personally. There is a big difference between knowing about His word and knowing His word. I can know all the rules about driving a car but it is only when I drive a car do I really understand how to drive a car. Many fail to understand that God is a person and desires a relationship with us. We maybe saved and bound for heaven but fail to know Jesus as a person in a relationship with Him. What a wonder this is that we can have a relationship with God who is as real as our next door neighbour. Let us enter into the fullness that God has prepared for us and live.

We Glow As Our Spirit Takes Over Our Flesh

Fleshly Walk

Most of us go about our daily lives operating from our fleshly life. This life has to be distinguished from our spirit man. Our spirit man is alive in Christ. His Holy Spirit comes to reside in our spirit when we are baptised in His Spirit. Our spirit is renewed when we are born again. However we continue to walk in the flesh and no nothing of what it means to walk by the Spirit. When the Holy Spirit becomes our leader we know what it means to walk by the Spirit. This is a redeemed life walking in the fullness of the Spirit.

Spirit Walk

The walk in the Spirit is what God is calling us to do. Very few desire to walk in this way. What we call spiritual is really soulish or fleshly. Our soul tends to be enlightened but it is still not operating by the Spirit. To operate in the Spirit is to be led by the Holy Spirit who lives in our spirit. The Holy Spirit desires to manifest through us the gifts and the fruits of the Spirit. Our spirit comes alive and the Holy Spirit ministers through our spirit. This separation is what is needed in the church. Most Christians are satisfied being born again but few desire to walk in the Spirit. Therefore the church is no different from the world. 

Abundant Life

God has provided all we need to live an abundant life in the Spirit. Through His Spirit in us we begin to glow in our soul and our body. The manifestations of the Spirit can be experienced. This is how Peter was able to walk on water. Miracles occur when we walk in the Spirit. What is impossible in the flesh becomes possible by the Spirit. Words are inadequate to express the dimension of walking in the Spirit. It is like walking in heaven on earth. Let us pursue for the best God has for us and never relent.

His Presence In You Is What Matters More Than What You Know

Abiding Presence

God's presence in us will not only influence us but also others. When we walk knowing that God goes with us, we become His light bearer. This is so profound that God has destined us to be His abiding place. Imagine the God of the Universe lives in us. This appears to be impossible to our finite mind to comprehend. Yet this is the truth. Jesus bought us with a price, His own sacrifice on the Cross. He now resides in us through His Holy Spirit. God is in us and with us. Now when we live in this consciousness of His presence in us, we become influencers. His Spirit in us radiates His presence all around us. Others can feel something different or a shift in the atmosphere as you enter a space. 

Personal Experience

I have experienced this many times. It is as if the demonic powers have to move out as I enter a space. It is His presence in me which does this. I cannot see what is happening but can see that something is happening around me. I attract favour many times and believe that the spirit of others are touched by my physical presence. I have become more aware of this recently and believe my discernment has increased. I would encourage others to walk in this revelation. We are spirit beings in an earthly body. We can influence others through our spirit. Is it possible that we can shift the world for good as we enforce His reign and rule in our lives?

Mission

I believe this is possible as we pray and seek His face daily. We are left with a mission in this world to see His Kingdom established on earth as it is in heaven. We can do this as we discern His presence invading the world through us. Let us unite in this together and see a trouble world being delivered from the hands of the evil around us. Let us fight our battles in the spiritual realms and not be engaged in useless earthly affairs. We have a mission to fulfil the last command from our Commander in chief, to go into all the world and preach the good news. Let us not delay but pick up our arms and enter into the battle today.

How To Operate In The Limitless Zone Of God

Limitations

On earth we are so limited. Our physical world limits us in many ways. There are rules and regulations that we have to conform to. Our educational system programmes us to think in certain limited ways. Science works within a limited framework to prove a theory. We can be so limited that we lose our God given creativity. God is not limited by time or space. He operates in a limitless zone. He has provided us with the same capacity to explore and break out of our imposed limitations. However we tend to operate within our human limitations because it is safe. What if you knew that there is more than what you see and hear?

Unlimited Possibilities

God put His Spirit within us to enable us to operate beyond limitations. In the Spirit we operate beyond physical limitations. There is a huge real world beyond the physical. Once we tap into this realm we begin to enlarge our sphere of influence. Prayer is a way to influence our physical world. I pray for car park space and on most occasions a space becomes available. My faith increases each time my prayer is answered. I did this recently and my friends were amazed when a car park became available just in front of the venue we were visiting. This is an example of how we can tap into the unseen world to make this happen in our physical world.

Our Potential

God has made resources available to us even before we were born. He thought of us before we were conceived in our mother's womb. Imagine the potential we have within us knowing that God has already planned everything He has for us. Now all we need to do is tap into His zone and avail of His plan. Everything is provided for to fulfil His plan. There is no lack in heaven. Wars can be stopped through prayer. We know this from how armies from heaven were sent to confuse the enemy. Yet few of us tap into this realm to help us on our earthly journey. Let us join the armies in heaven who are fighting for us and prevail over the enemy's plans to confuse and destroy.

The Power Of Everlasting Life Flows Through You

Eternal Life

When Jesus said He who believes in me receives eternal life, He meant just that. Eternal life has no beginning and no end. He is able to give eternal life because He is eternal life. He can only give what He has. No man can give you eternal life. His word is eternal in nature and therefore has the power to give eternal life. This is why His word has power that is endless. Imagine what this means. Eternal life flooding my being as I receive His word by faith and dwell in it. His life permeates every fibre of my being body, soul and spirit. This is how God redeems us from death to life. 

His Spirit In Us

His Spirit in us quickens our body. His Holy Spirit in us is a person and  lives forever. His life in us can strengthen our body. Eternal life flowing through us from our spirit to our body. This is why we can depend on the source of life in us for all our needs. He is a person and can personally minister to us to manifest Himself. This is why we can believe in healing and miracles. God desires to manifest Himself through us. The sole purpose Jesus came was to manifest Himself in our midst. Now we can have a personal relationship with Him. He is no more a impersonal God in a distance but a personal God who lives in us. We are the temple of the living God.

Endless Power

This awareness of His eternal presence within us must provoke us to desire more of His life to manifest through us. Once we come to this place of habitation we become of great value to His Kingdom. All His resources are available to us. We don't have to do things in our own strength but His. What a transformation this is! God for many generations lived with people. Now He dwells in us. This shift makes us more powerful than an atom bomb. We can be in places and operate beyond time and space to execute His plans. It is like cyber warfare where we can be an influence through spiritual air waves to overcome satanic forces. We live to bring life to dead places. This is the good news of Jesus Christ.

Many Are Called But Few Are Chosen

The Good News

The gospel is for all because it is the good news of salvation from sin. Yet many choose to reject the good news. Why?  God has given us a free will which means we have the freedom to choose. Many followed Jesus for the signs and wonders He did. However few followed Him when He talked about eating His flesh and drinking His blood. The religious of His day rejected Him and crucified Him. This is the same situation today. The message is still the same. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life. Many still think Jesus is just a prophet or wise teacher. 

The Bad News

The god of this world has blinded many to the truth. Just as the parable of the soils illustrates, many hear the message but fail to believe or understand. They get distracted by other things in this world. They have no interest in matters to do with eternal life. This life is all they are interested in. However there will be a remnant who will believe and stay the course to the end. These are the chosen ones. Why waste your time chasing after those who have heard the message and choose to reject it? Why not spend your time with those who choose to follow Him all the way. We need to spend our time wisely.

Solution

This is a costly path to follow but many will reject His message in the last days. Many will compromise and be lukewarm in their belief and walk. This is the state of the church today. We see a compromised church indistinguishable from the world we live in. We are called to be light and salt in the world. We are in the world but not of this world. Heaven is our home and earth is just the place we live in at present. Come let us be light and salt in this world. Let us not fear rejection as we are loved with an everlasting love.

Operating By Revelation Or By Reasoning

Operating By Faith

We are called to operate by faith and not by sight. What does it mean to operate by faith? Faith is not blind believing. It is based on truth. The truth is revealed in the word of God. Faith based on nothing is madness. Therefore God revealed to us by His word His plan of salvation and ways of living an abundant life. Now we can choose to walk by faith or by sight. Walking by faith is to walk by revelation. This means that we connect with His Holy Spirit within us and listen to His voice. Jesus listened to His Father and did what He saw His Father saying and doing. We too are called to walk by revelation. This is not how we were brought up in this world. We were trained to reason.

Operating By Reason

To operate by reason is to think about what we are doing. We have to plan and to think of the pros and cons of the decisions we make. This is to operate by the fleshly mind. When we choose reason over faith we become like the world. This is what is happening in most of our churches. We come to Jesus by faith but then walk according to our mind. We have not been trained to walk by faith or revelation. Therefore the Bible says we walk according to the flesh. We are exhorted to to be filled in the Spirit and walk by the Spirit. This means that our walk is according to what the Spirit says and not according to our reason.

Solution

Our thinking must follow revelation. It is not wrong to think or reason but we must seek God's mind before our mind. Seeking God's mind is to walk by revelation. I have always intuitively walked by revelation. Sometimes people don't understand how I came to a certain position. I too am amazed by the revelation but am confident it is the right decision. Later on I receive understanding of the revelation. This is where my mind is able to reason about the revelation. Revelation is the way the Spirit reveals to us the mind of God. This is so exciting that we can hear God's voice as we actively seek to walk by faith. I would urge you to examine the way you walk and seek God first and all these things will be added to you.

What Does It Mean To Live A Crucified Life?

Crucified Living

Jesus said those who desire to follow Him must deny themselves and take up their cross. This is a high calling yet how many of us understand what this means? We are happy to follow Jesus for the benefits we have in His salvation. Yet following Him means death to self. Jesus walked a crucified life before He was crucified on the cross. We too are called to walk in the same way. Yet how many of us are able to do this? There is no resurrection without a crucifixion. This is the truth and there is no other way to follow Jesus. We have been called but few desire to follow in His steps. This is the sad state of His church on earth. Many praised Him on Palm Sunday but few followed Him on Good Friday. Therefore few believed when He rose from the dead. It is the same today.

Separation

A crucified life means we are able to differentiate our soul from our spirit. Our soul longs to rule on earth but Jesus said we must rule from our spirit. When we understand this we will be able to access all God has prepared for us. God has already prepared a place for us. He has already ordained how we need to live. Yet few of us discern and walk according to His will. I believe this is because we are still walking according to our flesh rather then according to His Spirit. He said abundant life is in His Spirit not in our flesh. The more we crucify our flesh the more we will walk according to the Spirit.

Walking According To The Spirit

One way to walk in the Spirit is to pray in tongues. This bypasses our mind and connects with God's Spirit. Now we can hear God speaking to us and so listen and do His will. This is not a one time experience. It is a daily walk and a conscious decision to walk according to His Spirit.  This is not hard work because all He needs is for us to yield to Him. He does all the work. What a salvation we have in that He has provided all things to live a full life. Let us begin today to live a full life in the Spirit. His resurrection life in us will enable us to do this. Hallelujah.

Jesus Death Certificate Released My Birth Certificate

Life

What a wonderful exchange was accomplished on Calvary two thousand years ago. Jesus died that I may live. This is the story of Easter that changed the world forever. All creation rejoices at this truth that has set us free from a cycle of death. Everyone will one day die but Jesus has promised us eternal life in the spirit. He achieved this through His sacrificial death for mankind. All we need to do is to receive His gift and live forever. Yet man wants to do it his way and the sin of pride stops us from accepting this gift freely. He said freely you have received, freely give. God gave and it cost Him His Son.

Hope

My hope is in His finished work on the Cross. He said "It is finished". He had completed His mission to redeem mankind from the fires of hell once and for all. Now God has given us a free will to decide if we will accept His gift. A gift must be received. Many refuse to receive and so will end up in hell. What a sad state of affairs that we are so blind to the obvious. The devil has blinded us to God's plan of salvation and so religious rituals and traditions keep us bound to an endless life of slavery.

Salvation

Come today and receive His gift of salvation. There is no greater gift you can receive on earth. This gift cannot be bought with silver and gold. This is why it is free. You have to step out in faith and believe and receive. Countless lives have been saved from destruction and hell through this small step. God is waiting for us to decide whom we will choose. I choose Jesus and His way of salvation. All other gods cannot save us as He is the only way to heaven. Come today and be saved and receive eternal life.

Prayer Is Not Limited By Time Or Distance

Prayer

Many times we are not able to be with a person that needs prayer. They maybe living vast distance from us. However time and distance cannot limit the power of prayer. Prayer is like a atomic bomb that is set off in the heavenlies and is targeted precisely to achieve what it is sent for. We may be in a different time zone and place but this cannot limit God who answers prayers. God is waiting for His people to take up their place and pray on behalf of others. There is no greater power than a Christian on their knees in prayer. Prayer is  our powerful weapon that can demolish every argument and force that seeks to destroy and bring chaos and death.

Praying In The Spirit

Most of us limit the power of prayer by restricting our prayers to standard form of prayer. This is not wrong but sometimes standard prayers lose the personal plea and intensity of prayer. One powerful way to pray is in the Spirit in tongues. Praying in tongues enables us to pray perfect prayers that go straight to the throne room in heaven. This is why we have been given this gift. The enemy cannot understand this language and so cannot block it. Many of our prayers are so earthly that they don't go further than the ceiling. When we begin to see the answers to our prayer we will believe for more. Unbelief keeps us from believing prayers. Prayers as a routine achieves nothing. Prayer must be by faith to believe that what we pray for will be done.

Jesus Example

Jesus taught us how to pray. He spent hours in prayer to receive from His Father and then to pray His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. There is a certainty that what we ask for will be done. He said we can ask anything in His Name and it will be done. Why did He say this if He did not mean it? It is our unbelief that keeps us from availing the promises. Today let us pray believing that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Let us pray that evil will be halted and good will prevail. Let us pray for justice and righteousness to prevail across our land. God said that when His people pray He will hear and heal our land. Prayer is our weapon to bring heaven to earth.

Distance Your Soul From Your Spirit And Prevail

Our Soul

Our soul is what constitutes our mind, emotions and will. This is what makes us who we are in the flesh. It is our personality and we are known by others by who we are in relation to them. Our soul goes through many struggles during our growth from babyhood to adulthood. We face many challenges that mould our character and makes us who we are. Our soul is housed in our body. Our body interacts with the world around us through our senses which influences our soul. Some refer to the body and soul combined to stand for the flesh. The flesh is in enmity with our spirit. 

Warfare

We therefore have a battle going on within us between our flesh and our spirit. Our spirit after it is born again houses the Holy Spirit. Now we can choose to walk according to the demands of our flesh or by the Spirit. We are charged to be filled in the Spirit and to walk by the Spirit. How do we do this when our flesh dominates our daily life? We can do this only when we become aware that our soul is separate from our spirit. Many confuse this issue and think that the soul and the spirit are the same. This confusion has led to many preachers ministering from the soul rather than from the Spirit.

Overcoming

To overcome in the Spirit we must distance ourselves from our soul. We must bring every thought to the obedience of Christ. We can do this only as we walk by the Spirit and not give into the desires and demands of our flesh. Distancing is a strategy that sees our soul as needing to be redeemed. Our spirit has already been redeemed and is bound for heaven. Our soul is being redeemed as we walk according to the Spirit. This redemptive work is a process till we die. One day we will be like Jesus when we see Him as He is. Now we see in part and therefore only are a shadow of the real. When we see Him as He is, we will be like Him with no blemishes. I trust this helps in your war against your flesh and the demonic that works through your flesh.

Manifestations Of The Flesh And Manifestations Of The Spirit

Manifestation

We manifest what is within us. When we walk in the flesh we will manifest the works of the flesh like sexual immorality, jealousy, pride etc.  When we walk in the Spirit we manifest the works of the Spirit like love, joy, peace etc. We know what we are walking in by the works we manifest. Therefore one way to discern is to see what fruits we are manifesting in our lives. If we are always struggling with impure thoughts then surely it is not of the spirit. We must judge ourselves otherwise we will be judged. This maybe a key for many to repent and change their ways and walk according to the Holy Spirit.

Warfare

Our spirit is at enmity with our flesh. There is a war going on within us. Our will decides who we will listen to and follow. If we follow the desires of our flesh then we will manifest our fleshly desires. No wonder many feel trapped in their sin. The way out of this dilemma is to walk according to the Spirit. In the Spirit we will manifest the fruits of the Spirit. We will feel His love and peace and joy. The more we walk according to the Spirit the more we become fruitful and useful to others. Ministry is birthed in the Spirit. However what we see in churches today is works of the flesh rather than works of the Spirit.

Solution

This sad state of affairs can only be reversed when we repent and return to our first love. Our first love was to love the Lord with all our heart, soul and strength. What happened on the way was that we compromised with our flesh and so began to walk according to our fleshy desires. God desires that we be hot or cold not lukewarm. Today let us return to our first love and walk according to the Spirit and manifest the fruits of the Spirit.

Fix Your Eyes On Jesus Despite Your Circumstances And Prevail

Focus

Jesus needs to be the focus of our lives. When we take our eyes off Him then our focus becomes blurred. A blurred focus keeps us confused and distracted. Get back into focus by fixing it on Him. This is the only way to prevail in this broken world. Our circumstances may change but Jesus never changes. He remains fixed and unmovable. His Spirit in us will keep us focused on Him. This will apply to anything we do. Remain focused and breakthrough will come. Distractions are sent to keep us off track. The whole of life is our training ground to hone our senses to remain focused. 

Unfocussed

Focus is a good sign of where we are in our daily walk. When we take our eyes off Jesus we begin to stray way from our primary calling. Our prayer life takes a dip. We get involved in things away from our primary purpose. God appears distant. We wonder why we are lacking the fire we used to experience. Get back to focus on Jesus. Wash yourself in His blood. Repent and get back to walking in the fullness of the Spirit. In this world many are the challenges and distractions that will keep us from our focus.

Breakthrough

Breakthrough is round the corner. God has already provided for us. The delay is in not waiting in faith till we see the breakthrough. The manifestation is coming. Your healing is coming. All we need is already provided for. We must believe this. We can then ask for anything we desire and it will be done. God loves to bless us with more. Don't be content with a little. Hunger for more so that you can bless others through the overflow. We cannot bless others if we are struggling to meet ends. We must overflow in His gifts and fruits to be a blessing.

In The Flesh We Display Many Personalities. In the Spirit We Display Jesus.

Created In His Image

We were created in the image of God. This image is in our spirit. In the spirit we are all like God. This is why a human creation is divine and not just a mass of cells. This revelation should make us aware of the potential in each person. However we tend to look at the external and so judge each other by our status, looks or wealth. Our spirit lives in a body which has a soul. In this fallen world we are faced with many challenges that make us who we are. This is the state we find ourselves in, broken and in a mess. However God has redeemed our spirit and so we have hope that He can redeem our soul. Our soul in different fragments of our self displays different personalities to others. This is how we cope in the world. We play different roles and these roles shape our thinking and feeling and behaviour.

Soul

Our soul operates to enable us to function through our body. We think, feel and act and this sums up how we display ourselves to others. We can act a role in society and this helps us do the things we are called to do. A employer acts in a different role to an employee. A parent acts in a different role to a child. In these roles we display a different personality to function. When we are sick we behave like a patient. When we are well we display a confident and bold personality. Some of us feel we are just going through the motions in life. Some are not even aware of the personalities that live within them. In extreme cases one is oblivious of these alter personalities. This is how we cope especially if we have experienced extreme events like trauma in our life.

Salvation

Jesus came to set us free from the control of these different personalities in our life. He came to unite us and not to divide us. He bought us together in the spirit and now we can display the Spirit of Jesus. The more we function in the spirit the more we will display His image. Our soul and body will come under the influence of His Spirit. In this way we become whole in Him. This is our only hope. In Him we are made whole like the original Adam who walked on earth. Praise God we have a hope of salvation for body, soul  and spirit. Come to Jesus today and be made whole.

Surrender Your Tongue To The Holy Spirit And Control Your Mind And Your Body

Our Tongue

Our tongue is like a rudder that steers a ship. This small part of our body can set the whole world aflame. This is how powerful our tongue is. A tongue that can vomit venom can destroy and break to pieces what was built over a lifetime. No one can control the tongue without outside help. This is why God says that he who can control his tongue can control the rest of his body. We can curse or bless with our tongue. So our tongue is a powerful part of our body that needs to be disciplined. No other part has such power as our tongue. God spoke and created the worlds. We too can create through the words we speak.

Holy Spirit Tongue

When the Holy Spirit came He took over the tongues of men. How very telling that the men in the upper room began to speak in the tongues of men and of angels. This was a sign of surrender to the Holy Spirit. The men spoke and the whole world got touched by this shaking. Could this be what we need at this time? The world is in turmoil and we hear so much noise being spoken and most of them are lies or fake news. It induces fear in us and we tremble and shake through fear yet God wants us to fear Him and not man. The true fear of God will lead to peace and unity.

Surrendered Tongue

Today let us surrender our tongue to Him and let Him fill our mouth with His words of life. What a transformation will occur in us and around as we speak in the tongues of men and of angels. We will see healing and deliverance and many captives will be set free. Our words will carry a new sound that will penetrate the atmosphere and change it for good. This I believe is what prayer does. We pray His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Will we take this challenge and be part of the remnant that will stand in the gap and see the return of Christ?

Let The Image Of Jesus Shine Through You

Image of Jesus

We were born again into the image of Jesus. This means we are a new creation in Him. The old has past and the new has come. However we still live in our body and our soul is being redeemed. Our spirit is born again and lives forever. We now need to live out of our new nature. We have the divine nature within us. This is the nature of Jesus. The Holy Spirit within us helps us to walk in His ways. We can choose to walk according to the Spirit or according to our will. The more we allow the Spirit to lead us, the more we become like Jesus. Enoch walked with God and never faced physical death. We too can walk like Him for we have the Holy Spirit within us. 

Holy Spirit

In the old the Holy Spirit was working from without. Now the Holy Spirit has come to live within us. We therefore now have the power to live like Jesus. We bear His image within us. Will we allow the image of Jesus to shine through us? God has provided everything for us in the new covenant. This is a relationship we have with Him. Most people are content to know Jesus but not have a relationship with Him. This is where we fall short of the glory promised to us. Let us enter in and avail of His promises today. Why delay when the table is full for us to eat and enjoy of His pleasures today?

Land of His Promises

God is good and He will never withhold from us what He has promised. The delay and the failure is on our part. We have failed to trust God to do what He has promised to do. The people of Israel wandered around the promised land and never entered in because of unbelief. To day let us not allow unbelief to hold us back. The devil will try and distract and discourage us but we must stay fixed in our purpose. We must not let him rob us of our inheritance in Christ. Healing, deliverance and prosperity are ours today when we enter the land of His promises. Come let us enter in and change the world and make it heaven on earth.

The Root Cause For Many Disorders Is A Confused Identity

Identity

Identity is the sense of our core being. We are known by who we are as a person. When we are secure in our identity then others will be able to relate with us and we with them. A confused identity will reflect many aspects that makes it difficult for a person to function. This could impact on our personality, sexuality and give rise to various disorders. Identity is developed over years and some have a smooth process while others get stuck on the way. Life events and relationships can impact on the formation of our identity. A trusting relationship early in life with good attachments to parent figures and others can lead to a healthy identity. However most of us will experience many changes and so face challenges that makes the journey difficult.

Trust

Trusting relationships are important is early development of a sense of self. We feel secure and so can explore the world without fear. Fear causes us to avoid certain challenges and so deprive us of learning and growth. Many get stuck in this process and never grow up. This may lead to the development of disorders that further impacts on our identity. Gender dysphoria and other disorders are a result of such arrests in development. We see this acted out in superficial behaviours that hide a deeper fear of exposure. We see this characterised in reflections in art and body disfigurement. What is displayed is a reflection of the deeper issues in a person.

Remedy

Jesus came to give us a new identity. He said in Him we are a new creation. The old has past and the new has come. In Him we are secure and free because He takes our burdens and frees us to live life and that abundantly. He is the source of life and can reverse all that has gone before. Wholeness and freedom results in health and release from all disorders. Come to Jesus today and be set free and regain your original identity in Him.

Jesus And I Can Change History

In His Image

God created us in His image. This means we have the potential of being like Him. This may sound preposterous yet God designed us in this way. He chose to make us like Him. An image is the exact replica of the subject imaged. The difference is that it is an image or reflection and not the original. No one can replace God as He is our Creator. Science may exclude God and come up with another theory to explain creation. Many believe otherwise and trust God is the Creator and what we see and know is from Him. I choose to believe He is my Creator and so I can expect Him to come through for me.

New Creation

Jesus said that a person who believes in Him becomes a new creation. The old is past and the new has come. This is a revolutionary statement. The disciples believed this and they turned the world upside down. They changed history and so we have a world that was before Christ and after Christ. We too can expect to change history when we surrender to His life in us. This is possible only because His Spirit lives in us. We know this because His presence is real and He works through us.

History Makers

I have experienced His presence and His life in me has changed me from a victim to a victor. Many of us caught up in this world system feel like victims. We are victims of the system we live in. Money rules our lives. We are programmed to believe that without money we can't get anywhere or do anything. God says He is our Provider and money is only a means to an end and not the end. This change is what needs to happen for us to live like kings on earth. Jesus did not have much on earth yet He was the King of all creation. We too can live like a king when we know that the King lives in us. We can become history makers and not just followers. Today I want to challenge you to be a history maker as you put your hands in His hands and join me in changing history.

Fire Cleanses And Fire Empowers

Fire Baptism

Jesus baptises with the Holy Spirit and fire. Many forget the fire part of the baptism. John baptised that people may come to repentance. Jesus baptises with fire. There are two baptisms. One is through water and the other through fire. Most of us are content to receive water baptism to signify repentance and new birth in Christ. How many of us desire to be baptised in fire? Yet this is what is lacking in the church. Some would contend that there are three baptisms. One is water, Holy Spirit and fire. We must be prepared to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and fire to lead a victorious life.

Spiritual Warfare

Our flesh is always contending against our spirit. Our spirit is born again and redeemed but our flesh is being redeemed. We live in a body which will one day die. There is therefore a war between the flesh and our spirit. Demons can influence our soul and our body but not our spirit. This is what spiritual warfare is all about. There is a constant need to be on fire to resist the flesh. Most of us are content to be sitting back and compromising with our flesh. No one can compromise with the enemy and win. The Kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it by force. This is not physical force but spiritual. We have the Name of Jesus and the blood of Jesus as weapons to overcome the attacks we face daily. The word of God challenges us to keep vigilant lest we become complacent and lose  our salvation. We are called to be warriors against the forces of darkness that rule this world.

Victorious Living

How can we stand but to fight our battles on our knees. The Christian calling is to be on the front lines. We cannot take over the enemy's territory unless we fight. Our enemy are spiritual entities and just as Jesus confronted them so do we too. There is little teaching on this subject in churches and so the church is weak and blind. Today let us take up arms and be baptised in fire for the battle before us is fierce. We cannot afford to sit back and watch. We have to enter into the fray and take back what the enemy has stolen. We have the whole host of heavenly forces behind us as we step out in faith. We can change history as we do so in Jesus Name.

Physical Death Was Not Overcome At The Cross.

Death

Death where is your sting. Jesus overcame death at the Cross. However this refers to death of our spirit. When Adam sinned we all sinned and so died spiritually. Jesus came to reverse this death by dying on the Cross. We now are alive in the spirit and this is what we call the born again experience. This is resurrection power that raised us. Before His resurrection we were dead in our spirit. Now through His death we have come alive. Because He lives I have hope for tomorrow. His resurrection was the greatest event in history. Without His resurrection we are hopeless and lost. However we will still die a physical death.

Life

We will all die one day unless we are raptured or walk into heaven like Enoch did. This is the reality. Why were we left to face death? Death is what makes living so exciting. Death for a Christian is a promotion. Christ overcame death and now we too can overcome death. The fear of death keeps many caged in their prison. The reality of death limits us. However we need to operate in eternal life and not death. Jesus said that He has given us eternal life in the spirit. This life is for now and not the hereafter. We fail to live the abundant life Christ promised because we don't believe in eternal life. Eternal life has no beginning and no end. We need to shift our thinking from a limited God to a God of no limits.

Resurrection Power

Today let us operate in resurrection power. This power is available to us who believe. Jesus said I am the resurrection power and life. His life was the demonstration of what is possible when we believe in His finished work. He now has ascended into heaven so that we can now operate in the same power. Why don't we see the church operate in this power? We fail to do so because we fail to believe. Unbelief keeps us from availing of the power that has been afforded to us. We must move from a position of mental assent to an act of obedience and acceptance. This is the only we can overcome death and be victorious.

The Key To Managing Relationships Is In Managing Boundaries

Relationships

Relationships are good but they can also cause a lot of pain and heartache. Over time many decide to break up because of the pain caused. This is not a physical pain but a mental pain. Mental pain cannot be seen but is as real as physical pain. It is the internal distress felt through broken relationships. We all need to relate to others but many get confused when communication is not clear. Many are the expectations of others and needs unfulfilled result in pain and distress. When a relationship is based on unmet needs it becomes a battle of control. A person becomes controlling of another to meet their needs. These needs are based on a hunger for love and significance. 

Basic Needs

Basic needs are met in childhood through parental love and guidance.  Many of these are not met and so as adults we tend to look for these in others. A deprived child will look for others who are deprived. They attract each other. We unconsciously attract others who have similar needs. This then sets up a cycle of events when both are expecting and demanding more from each other. This never works for a need can never be satisfied by another. We need to look to God to meet our needs and not another. When God is absent in our lives we will continue to manipulate others to meet our needs.

Boundaries

Boundaries become blurred and we read into things which are not there. When boundaries are blurred they lead to confused communication. Distorted and unclear communication leads to confusion and frustration. Clear boundaries keep a person objective and able to see things as they are. I don't say things and do things to manipulate the other person. I look to God to meet my needs. I operate in the overflow and am able to communicate clearly and this enables others to be relaxed. Anxious persons make others anxious. We influence our environment by how we feel. When we feel anxious and disturbed we disturb others. 

Solution

Clear and open communication is the way to establish clear boundaries. Boundaries are unconscious written rules that govern relationships. When I intrude into another's space I am wilfully breaking a boundary. This could be disastrous for sexual and emotional intimacy. This is how relationships get abused and result in domestic violence. Our unhindered emotions get the better of us. The solution is to be clear and open in our communication with each other. In this way we can slowly grow in our relationships and be loved and accepted.

Strategy For Good Sleep That Works

Sleep

Many people struggle with getting to sleep. They worry about not sleeping enough and this becomes a problem in itself. Worrying about anything will disturb your sleep. Sleep is important to our body and mental health. Sleep is the way we allow the stresses of the day to melt away and to recharge our body. Our body needs rest. We were not designed to work all the time. Even God rested on the seventh day! Sleep is vital to our bodily function and we need to have good sleep to lead a healthy life. Many who are sleep deprived suffer from various ailments in body and mind. One of the first signs of a mental disorder is the loss of sleep.

Strategies

There are many strategies to help one to relax and induce sleep. Some count sheep, others do relaxation exercises to relax the body and mind and there are techniques that can be used to induce sleep. Some of these work sometimes. Some resort to drugs to help induce sleep. All these are short term solutions. Sleep can be disturbed by many causes and so one solution does not fit all. One of the ways is to meditate on the word of God. God says that he whose mind is fixed on Him will find peace and rest. His word enables one to rest in His arms. In His arms there is rest and peace. 

God's Solution

Read the Bible before going to bed. Reading the word distracts your mind from daily worries and fixes it on God's word. It relaxes the mind and many find that reading His word helps sleep induction. The word of God is powerful and so power is released to quiet the mind. Meditating on scripture is another way to reap the benefits of His word. God heals the broken hearted and the wanderer is brought home. This is a proven way to induce sleep and stay asleep. There is no more powerful medicine than the word of God. It works especially when you read it aloud and by faith believe in it. Try it today and be at rest and sleep well.

Your Difficulty Is Your Opportunity To Triumph In Christ

Difficulties

Difficulties are part of life. We face different challenges as we live in a fallen world. A fallen world does not care about truth and justice. This is where as Christians we have to be the plumb line and not the bottom line for truth and justice. Many are the challenges we face daily but in Christ we can triumph. There is no challenge that we cannot face for He is with us. All we need to do is ask Him to help us. It becomes His problem when we ask Him to help us. We say, "What are we going to do about it?"

Holy Spirit

His Holy Spirit is our Counsellor and Guide. He was sent to help us. However we tend to do it our way than His way. This is when we run into difficulties. Our pride keeps us from surrendering our will and doing it His way. We want to claim points for doing it our way. We need to humble ourselves and ask the Lord to help us do it His way. In this way He will come to our help and show us His way. He said lay your burdens on me. He will carry our burdens. When we are yoked with Christ, He bears our burdens. 

Solution

Come today and empty your load on Him. He is our Father in heaven and He loves to help us. Israel wandered in the desert for forty years due to disobedience. Let us spare ourselves the same fate and surrender to His will. Let us pray your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. This is the only way to triumph in Christ. Let us not complicate matters by trying to do it our way. Most of our difficulties are due to choosing not to surrender to Him. All of life is a training ground for us in preparation for rulership. We will one day rule on earth. Let us be trained to triumph in righteousness and not give in to evil.

Reading The Word of God And Knowing The Word

Knowledge

There is so much knowledge we can have yet this knowledge is of no use if it is failed to be applied. We can talk about the subject without knowing the subject. This is what happens through our institutions of learning that teach us to amass a lot of knowledge but fail to apply it. Learning of itself is not bad but useless if it cannot be applied. I can learn a lot about tennis or football but if I don't play it, what use is it?  Most of our lives is spent on learning about things but few learn to live it. This apples to the word of God too. We have a lot of mental knowledge but little heart knowledge.

Heart Knowledge

Mental ascent to the word of God remains in the mental realm. To manifest the word of God it needs to become a knowing or heart knowledge. When I know the Healer, He becomes my healing. I can know all about the Healer but nothing manifests. Most Christians can be divided into two camps. The ones who know about the word and those who know the word. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is an experiential event. It is not just an acceptance but a manifestation. In most cases there is evidence of the manifestation like praying in tongues. One needs to discern the difference. The baptism in fire can also result in manifestation like in a change in your character.

Solution

Is this the reason the church appears to be powerless and lifeless. We do a lot of external things to appear useful but are these only an appearance and not the real thing? God is Spirit and He manifests His power through His Spirit. Have we been deceived in to accepting the lesser because we have failed to teach on knowing God? Call on the Holy Spirit to infill you and baptise you in power and in fire. Hunger for this experience till you know you have it. This is the only way the church is going to be the head and not the tail. God give us all a hunger for knowing Him more.

The Tree Of Life Is Jesus

The Tree Of Life

The tree of life was in the garden of Eden and Adam and Eve were able to eat of it freely. In the garden was also the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God forbade them from eating of this fruit as they would die. However the devil was able to tempt them to do so. Through this sin of disobedience they fell and so did all creation with them. Since then all of creation has been affected by sin. This is the reason why Jesus has to come to redeem us. He did this by dying on the Cross for us. Now the tree of life lives in us when we trust His salvation on our behalf. Jesus comes to live in us through His Holy Spirit.

Fruit

The tree of life bears fruit that nourishes our spirit. Our spirit then affects our soul and our body. The words of life bear fruit in us and we enjoy it and share it with others. This is the way God had planned it from the beginning. However the devil cannot be part of this redemption. He is condemned to hell with his angels. However he wants to take as many as possible to hell with him. This is why we need to share the good news of the gospel to all who will listen. There is no other way to be saved. 

Salvation

God planned from the beginning that we were helpless to save ourselves. He therefore has provided for us a lamb as a sacrifice on our behalf. Come and receive His salvation today. He died for all, yet all will not receive Him. Most will reject His plan of salvation. Most will be happy to continue to eat of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. This is what we see in our fallen world. The wars within and without confirm our fallen state. There is no redemption other than through Jesus. He has promised us eternal life. Come now and be saved in Jesus Name.

Switch Your Mode Of Operation From Taking To Giving To Reverse Your Situation

World System

Most of us have been programmed by the system of the world to operate like the world. The system of the world is based on power and so the most powerful rule the world. The main motive is to win at any cost. We see this acted out in families, organisations and governments. It is a selfish system based on me, myself and I. The world tries to build on the basis of a team but that is only a cover up for attaining ends. The end is still to achieve the best for oneself. The Kingdom of God is based on love and giving. 

Kingdom Living

This requires a major shift in our thinking. A shift from me, myself and I to we, ours and Kingdom is not a minor feat. It calls on us trusting God rather than man. God is our Provider. We go to work because we want to earn a living. However our workplace should be the place where we are placed to witness of God's goodness not our place of provision. This is not how we think. We mainly think that we have to work to earn a living and therefore are forced to compromise with the world. When we come to the place where we acknowledge God as our Provider than things begin to change.

Giving

In the Kingdom we are blessed by giving. We are looking for opportunities to share God's love in many ways. We share our goods, money, time and resources with others. We desire to bless others rather than use them to fulfil our needs. This is what we are called to do yet even in the church we see the system of the world operating. The world has infiltrated our churches. It is time to reverse this trend and begin to be the light and salt we are called to be. Let us give to others and build a loving community where there is no lack. Let us look to God as our Provider and shift the world to God's ways. His ways are the best way of living. Let us begin today.

Lust Is Based On Fantasy. Love Is Based On Action.

Lust

Many are the drivers of our behaviour. When our emotions are aroused we will be driven to do things unimaginable. We have to discern what is driving us. If lust drives us then it is mainly based on our fantasy. Fantasy is our fallen imagination that thinks we can get away with some of our forbidden desires. Many rapes and sexual misadventures are based on lust. Lust is a big driver in many risky adventures. The lust for power, fame and self aggrandisement are some of the results of lust. Sexual lust has broken many marriages. Love on the other hand is based on action.

Love

Love is the determined action to serve another. It is not driven by selfish desires but selfless concern. It always gives and desires to bless than to take. Think always what is driving you in a particular situation. If it is lust then reject the desire before it is too late. Once desire is formed it is difficult to reverse the action that follows. Impulsive actions many times leads to a good life suddenly destroyed. What is the solution to this dilemma where in Romans 7 Paul eludes to this situation of knowing what to do but not doing it?

Solution

The solution is to surrender our will to the Lord. Many of us want to live a Christian life but on our terms. This is not possible. This is clearly illustrated in Romans 7. The flesh will not yield to the Spirit. Only total surrender will result in the flesh being reckoned dead. Once we know our place in the Spirit we will be able to overcome the flesh. The flesh will have no more power over us. Remember sin is a powerful force that works through our flesh. We need to submit to God and walk in obedience to the Spirit and not give in to the ways of the flesh. This is the victory we have in Christ Jesus who won the battle on Calvary.

The Secret Place Is Our Hiding Place Against The Attacks Of The Devil.

The Secret Place

The secret place is where the Spirit of God resides. We too are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. This is the place where we need to operate from. We still live in our body but our spirit is seated in heavenly place. This is our secret place where we wield authority and operate in the flesh. Most of us are unaware of this position we have in Christ. To operate in the Spirit is to operate from our secret place. We cannot win the war against our enemy but from our secret place. The enemy has no place in our secret place. He is banned from the throne room of God. We reside in the third heaven while our enemy taunts us from the second heaven.

Our Position In Christ 

Our position in Christ is a privileged position. This is where we relate in the spirit with the Holy Spirit. We have the mind of Christ and so can rule and reign on earth with His mindset. Our communion with Him is what will get us over the hurdles that we face in life. All around us maybe crumpling and failing but within us we are overcoming. We can overcome because the overcomer lives in us. We know how the disciples went through a lot of persecution but rejoiced in the midst of it. We too can rejoice when troubles come our way because we live from within and not from without. Even when all appears to be lost, we still live in victory because we know we win in the end.

Kingdom Of God Is Within Us

This is how we need to live. The Kingdom of God is within us where Jesus is King. Where else would we want to live? In His Kingdom is love, peace, joy and all the fruits of the Spirit. We can also operate in the gifts of the Spirit. We are spirit beings and therefore our home is where the Holy Spirit is. Here there is no death or decay because we have eternal life. The physical world is just a temporary phase. Our mind is set above and we feast daily at His table. Now we can live life to the full knowing that it is He who called us to this life. We have been chosen for a time like this. Let us be His light and life to a broken world we live in.

Ego Is A Seed That Must Die To Bear Fruit.

Ego

Our ego is that fallen state that is self centred and proud. Our ego has to die so that it can bear fruit to righteousness. The fruit of the ego is pride, jealousy, envy, hatred, anger, malice and all other kinds of destructive tendencies. We need to die to these tendencies and bear fruit that builds our character. Fruit like love, peace, joy and all the fruits of the Holy Spirit. How can pride be companion with humility? One must die for the other to flourish. This is the process of sanctification. We must actively die to the fruits of the ego so that we can bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit. This is an ongoing battle we face and each time the ego bears its head we have the opportunity to die to it.

Fruit

We must bear good fruit to add to our faith. Many fall into harms way because their faith was not girded by the fruits. We may have a lot of faith but without love we are but a clanging cymbal. This is where the battle is and our part is to daily die to our ego. A seed must die to bear fruit. A seed that does not die remains as it is, a seed. Death leads to life. Jesus died and came forth in resurrection life. We too must die to operate in resurrection power. Could it be that the church has failed to die and therefore lacks power? This power is to operate in the gifts and fruits of the Spirit.

Sanctification

Let us each day confront our ego and die to our selfish ambitions. We know what is good and therefore have no excuse to give in to the desires of our flesh. Many problems in the church can be solved when we walk in love. Failure to do so will result in division and hostility. What we see in the world of division and hostility is sadly seen in the church too. How can we be light and salt if we are like the world? It is time for the church to be the church and lead by example. It is time for action as talk will not achieve anything but hot air.

Replace Death With Eternity And Enter The Promised Land.

Death

The only certainty we have in this life is death. Everything dies in this life. However few want to think of death because it is the end of life. What is the point of living if at the end of the day we all die. Jesus came to conquer death and give us life. He reversed the end from the beginning and now we can live knowing that we will never die. Death is just a transition to another life where death is no longer an issue. Jesus promised us eternal life when we follow Him. He made the way for us to enter the promised land. This begins now and not the here after. His promises can be fulfilled now if we believe in Him. 

Unbelief

The people of Israel wandered in the desert due to unbelief. We too can wander around and not enter into the land of His promises through unbelief. His promises are yes and amen. There is no reason for us not to inherit His promises if we only believe. This appears simple but is true. God has made it simple so all can believe. We make things complicated by our own thinking. His word is to be believed and not to be reasoned with. Reason sometimes interferes with trust. We need to trust and obey. God said obedience is greater than sacrifice. Those who are obedient will reap the fruits of their trust. 

Promised Land

Now is the time to reap the fruits of His sacrifice. There is no need for further sacrifices because His sacrifice is sufficient for all. His grace is enough to help us to move into the promised land. Let us enter in now and enjoy the abundant life He has promised and live. When we think eternity our whole being will begin to respond with life and not death. Death becomes an illusion. Life will stream through our body and soul. Our spirit will take control and the Holy Spirit within us will lead us and guide us. Come now to to the river of life and be refreshed into life.

How Our Theology Determines Our Outlook

Law Versus Grace

God gave us the Ten Commandments to make us aware of our sinful nature. Without the law we were unaware of sin. After the law was given man had a choice but he found he was powerless to obey the law and its demands. The problem was sin and the only answer was a blood sacrifice. So animal sacrifice were made to satisfy the demands of the law. However this was only a partial solution. The only solution was for God to send His only Son to be the permanent sacrifice for the problem of sin. The power of sin was reversed through the Cross and now we are free to be. This is what grace is all about. It is a free gift with eternal consequences. We now can continue to live under the law or live under grace.

Predestination versus Choice

Many believe we have been predestined to be saved and therefore there is no need to spread the gospel of Good News. This is a false teaching that says there is no point to do anything because God had already predestined as to who would be saved. Yes God has predestined us for salvation but we have a choice to make. God knows who are His but we still need to make a choice. He has given us a free will and we can choose to follow Him or reject Him. Jesus died that all maybe saved. He did not come just for the few select ones. We must choose to accept Him as our Lord and Saviour.

Poverty versus Prosperity

Many believe that poverty is a sign that we have no attachment to things on the earth. However God has promised us an abundant life. This abundance is not just spiritual but that we should prosper as our soul prospers. This means it affects our bodies and our finances too. We can walk in health and prosperity or poverty and sickness. This too is a choice. A theology of poverty and lack will reap the same. We need to check our theology and align it with the word of God. Human interpretations of scripture have lead many to make wrong choices. The above are a few of the ways we live below what God intended for us. Correct your theology and see how your life changes for good.

If Ideology Is What Separates Us Than Jesus Is Who Unites Us

Ideology

Ideology is the story of what we grew up from our birth. We were taught what were the norms in the culture we grew up in. The culture determined who we would follow and how we would behave. If we grew up in India it would be different from if we group in China. One was brought up in a democratic nation and the other in a communist nation. The two ideologies are different and so we become like the one we were brought up in. The clash of ideologies follows us throughout life. It has become part of our identity. Identity is essential for our survival. This is compounded by being brought up in a nation outside our race. Now we have to adapt to the ways of the nation we were born in.

Acculturalisation

Most of us follow blindly the way we were brought up. They may not be always the best ways but they are the ways we know. We parent the way we were parented. Therefore a clash occurs when our ways are challenged. This is because our identity is being threatened. We think our way is the right way. Only those open to change will be prepared to change. The new ways of working challenge the old ways. The old ways maybe right and good but the new ways introduce a difference. This difference if not managed well can lead to disruption of relationships at all levels of society. We see this acted out in marriage, education, health and government. The labour movement thinks differently from the liberals. One is for sharing all things while the other majors on rewarding those who can work.

Jesus

Jesus came to bridge the cultures. He refused to follow the religious laws and traditions of His time. He came to fulfil the laws by laying down His life for His creation. This is the only way we can unite in our differences. Either our differences keep us separate or Jesus unites us through His death and resurrection life. He changed history by putting an end to death by giving us eternal life. Now we can enjoy His life without fear because we are all headed for heaven. What is the point of fighting for our rights when we have His life in us. We have everything we need when we have Him. Let us unite in His Name and not give in to petty distractions that keep us divided.

It Is The Outflow That Determines The Inflow

Giving

Giving is the principle that is the key to abundance. We reap what we sow.  If we do not sow what will we reap? Nothing sown, nothing reaped. Therefore if you are suffering lack, it maybe because you have stopped the outflow. Many live in poverty because they have stopped giving. Giving is an attitude of the heart. In this world we have been taught to take and so there are more takers than givers. The Kingdom of God is giving. God gave His only Son to redeem the world. Jesus lay down His life to be the sacrifice for you and for me. He showed us the way to abundance. Now when we give, we become like Him.

Poverty Mentality

There needs to be a change of heart to realise the shift from a poverty mentality to a abundance mentality. A poverty mindset is always holding on to what little we have. Letting go is like losing all. This fear keeps us imprisoned and so we fail to sow. Sowing is a principle of life.  We can sow into areas of need. We can sow in money, time, kindness, love and so many other ways. Charity begins at home. We will reverse many situations when we choose to give rather than take. Relationships will grow when we choose to give rather than take. Needs will be met and poverty will be exterminated.

Abundant Living

We can apply this principle in every area of life and it will work. Let us look for opportunities to serve rather than to be served. What a new world we will create around us. Give to those who cannot return the favour. Serve in small ways everyday and change the world. God is a giver. He wants to bless us and not hurt us. Therefore we can trust Him to bless us when we give. Many have grasped this principle early in life and gained from it. Let us begin today and reverse the world and sow peace and love. What a new world this would be when we love our brother as our self.

In The Spirit You Are Flying Above The Clouds

Flesh Walk

Most of us operate in the flesh rather than in the spirit. We are only aware of our spirit when we are not engaged in fleshly activities. Our daily activities are done in the flesh but we can still operate in the spirit. Few do this and so are oblivious to the spiritual dimension affecting them. When things go wrong they look for fleshly solutions. The real problem maybe spiritual attack but due to lack of knowledge we look for solutions in the wrong places. Many are hassled by feelings of rejection, shame and self hatred. They maybe psychological problems but the culprit maybe demonic.

Spirit Walk

In the spirit we operate above the clouds of rejection, despair and a host of other issues. Under the cloud these problems can be major stumbling blocks to a walk in the spirit. The solution can be to fly above the clouds in the spirit where there is sunshine all the time. We were born as spirit beings and therefore have the ability to fly above the clouds. Yet we choose to walk in the flesh rather than the spirit. Few choose to walk in the spirit most of the time. Therefore we see a church struggling, weak and powerless in its engagement with the demonic world.

Spiritual Warfare

The demonic world is real. Satan pretends that he does not exist and fools a lot of people. Most think Satan is just a funny guy who frightens little children. This is false and let us not be fooled. We need to confront our arch enemy who is robbing us of our inheritance. Jesus main mission was to defeat Satan at the Cross and set us free. We cannot now sit on the fence and do nothing. We must engage our enemy and fight from above and not from below. When we do this, we will overcome and win the world for Jesus.

Are We Ready To Meet Our Maker?

Death

Death is not an easy subject to talk about. Yet the reality is that we will all die one day. The reality of death is what makes life so precious. Without death life is meaningless. However to many death is something to be feared. Why? Death is the end of all things. Jesus said He had come to give us eternal life. He had reversed the curse of death. This was His primary mission. Death entered mankind and all creation through the Fall of Adam and Eve. Life now comes through Jesus. Only in Jesus is the answer to life and death. There is no one else that can answer the question of death.

Eternal Life

Everyone of us will have to come to terms with death. Most of us would avoid this subject as it sounds negative and destructive. Death never appears to be positive except for those knowing eternal life. Eternal life has no beginning and no end. God is eternal and He is the only one who can give us eternal life. Yet God has destined man to choose heaven or hell. Our choice depends on our decision to follow Jesus or deny Him. God has given us a choice because He is God. He does not force Himself upon us.

Your Choice

Our God is a consuming fire. He is also a God of mercy and grace. Because evil is real so also is love. Light and darkness cannot live together. We either walk in the light or in darkness. Our God is a jealous God. He has purchased us with the blood of Jesus. He therefore will not treat the sacrifice of His Son lightly. Once we come into the light, His blood cleanses us of all sin. It is this transaction that enables us to walk in the light as He is in the light. Death has lost its sting and we can face death with no fear. What a salvation we have in Jesus.

Face Your Fear And Fear Will Leave You

Fear

What a paradox this is! Most of us will normally run from the thing we fear or hide. However the truth is that fear needs to be faced to be conquered. What I feared most came to bite me is a common saying. We attract to ourselves what we fear most. Many are caught up in this fear triangle and get triangulated. We can fear in the inside, outside and upside. They all conspire to paralyse us to inaction. Fear has the power to kill you. Therefore what ever fear your is, now is the time to confront it. Whether it is fear of sickness, relationship breakup, accidents, heights, closed places, confront your fear and be set free.

Fear Is A Perception

Fear is based on not knowing. The fear of the unknown is mostly due to wrong information or lack of correct knowledge. Fear is an illusion and mainly a perception. You perceive danger and therefore your natural response is to go into a defensive mode of operation. However our defensive position could be reinforcing our fear. If we fear a dog will bite us than we will freeze with fear. However if we decide to confront the dog than the dog will sense this and move away. Use this illustration to confront all your fears. Either the dog gets you or you get the dog. So many people are trapped in a state of fear. Fear of catching COVID is the most recent terror plaguing the world.

Love

Jesus came not to give us a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. He is our deliverer from all fear. Perfect love casts out all fear. He is our hiding place and in Him we can face any fear inside and outside. Whatever your fear is first acknowledge this and than confront it. Your fear will change to be your strength. This is the transformation that God will do in you as you surrender your fears to Him. His love will so embrace you that all fear will leave you. What appeared to be your weakness will become your strength. Today be fear free and faith filled.

What Does It Mean To Be Possessed By The Holy Spirit?

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus who was sent after Jesus ascended to heaven. He now sits at the right hand of God the Father. Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit after His baptism. He commenced His ministry after His baptism. He now baptises us with His Holy Spirit and fire. He said He would send us a Comforter who would dwell in us and lead us and guide us. He set the example as to how to lead a Spirit possessed life on earth. Now He wants us to walk in the Holy Spirit and be possessed by Him. Is this possible?

Jesus

Jesus said the Holy Spirit will reveal to us the truth. He is our teacher. We can rely on Him to reveal the truth to us. All we need to do is believe that this is possible. When the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost He filled the disciples that met in the upper room. They wee filled as tongues of fire settled on them and they all spoke in tongues. This was a sign of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Why did the Holy Spirit take hold of our tongue? Because the tongue is the rudder and what we speak releases a blessing or a curse. Once our tongue is surrendered to Him there is nothing that can stop us. We have the power to bind and to lose. 

Decision

I want to be possessed by the Holy Spirit. This is the only way I will be able to walk like Jesus did. Jesus was full of the Holy Spirit. How can we walk like Him if we are not filled? Many try to walk in the Spirit but have one foot in the world. This is adultery as one cannot walk in the Spirit and in the flesh at the same time. We have to choose whom we will serve. The Holy Spirit will not share His glory with another. This is why the church is so weak and powerless. Let us today decide to be possessed by the Holy Spirit and bring glory to God. There is no second class citizen in heaven. We are for Him or against Him. Choose today whom you will serve.

When We Move Out, God Moves In.

Supernatural Living

God is waiting for us to move out so that He can move in to do what only He can do. As long as we sit content in our own world nothing supernatural will happen. We can either walk in the natural or supernatural. God is supernatural. He abides in a world different from ours. We live in a limited world. God operates in an unlimited world. Yet God has chosen to live in us through His Holy Spirit. What a mind boggling state this is! How God in His infinite wisdom has chosen to dwell in man. This was God's design and intent from the beginning. 

God Living In Man

God living in man is not something that we can comprehend through our finite minds. This is because God is Spirit and only the born again spirit of man can understand these things. In the spirit there are realms unlimited and unfathomable. When we choose to believe this God will take us to new heights of revelation in Him. What we see now is colourless compared to the colourful realm God lives in. His world is multi dimensional. His truth is not limited by man's fallen mind. We tend to operate in a finite world and so see things in limited dimensions.

Endless Possibilities

God wants to brings us into His world of endless possibilities. Imagine what this will look like. In His world sound and light has many levels not seen or heard. Animals can sense things that we can't. They can see things that we can't. Their sense of smell is far superior to ours. Imagine what it would look like when we can see and hear like God. If God lives in us there are no limitations to what we can see and do. God wants us to move out of our comfort zone so that He can manifest His supernatural power. What an abundant life that would be. Supernatural provision, healing and abundance will flow from this realm by faith. Lord I desire this.

Know Your Authority In Christ

Authority

Jesus said, "I give you all authority. Go in my Name and make disciples of all nations". What does this all authority mean? Authority is to do with rulership. The centurion had authority to command his soldiers to do as he commanded them. They went and did it. Similarly  Jesus who is God has given us spiritual authority over all demonic forces to command them to be silent. This world is under the control of Satan. However Jesus came to take back control. He does this now through His church on earth. Satan has taken over the earth but the church is called to take it back from him. The church is asleep and has forgotten the command to take control and to rule and reign on earth.

Church

We as believers in Christ must now take our place and implement the command to preach the gospel to all nations. The good news that Jesus has completed the defeat of Satan on the Cross must be preached. It is only when the church heeds the call will we see victory in our life, family, community, city and nation. We have to do the job as we have been given the keys to death and life. The angelic hosts are waiting for us to use the keys to bind and to lose. We bind the enemy and lose the captives. The spirit world is real and the church needs to wake up to take our place of authority. The world is in a mess because the church has not implemented the command of Jesus.

Jesus

Jesus set the example for us. His light now shines through us to push back the forces of darkness. Men are bound by darkness and the demonic controls them. We need discernment to see the spirit world and take authority to push them back from controlling our lives. In all areas of life the demonic is prevalent. We see this played out in government, family and society at large. The false ideologies have taken root in the masses and the devil is stealing, killing and destroying us . We the church have to implement our God given authority to reverse this downward trend. The angelic hosts are waiting to act on our command. Let us establish the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven now in our areas of influence.

Spiritual Blindness Is Real

Physical 

Many go about their daily lives blind to so many things in life. We operate in our own make belief world and do not see it as others see it. This kind of blindness can appear in many areas. We could be physically blind and so cannot see. This will be apparent to all. A blind man needs help to guide his way. His organ of sight is absent and so he cannot see. However we can also have blind spots where we see but still don't see. Something is right before us but we don't see it. Someone else comes along and finds it but we never saw it although we had looked at it in the same place. 

Psychological

In a similar way we could also have psychological blindness. We fail to perceive certain things because we fail to understand or grasp beyond the physical realm. This will affect our communication. This is illustrated clearly where men are said to mean one thing but women think or discern a different message in the same words expressed. The meaning is at different levels. Both are right but perceive differently. A glass half filled with water can be seen as half full or half empty. So also in other areas we fail to understand another person because we interpret a situation in physical dimensions rather than in psychological. 

Spiritual

Spiritual blindness is also real. Many doubt there is a spiritual dimension to our lives. We think all we see is all there is. Others know about God but don't know Him personally. There are different levels of spiritual blindness. This blindness is what Jesus meant when He spoke in parables to His disciples. They did not understand what Jesus meant because it was hidden from them. Spiritual truths can only be understood by the spirit. One needs to be born again in the spirit to understand spiritual things. What is seen as spiritual can be just a interpretation of the mind like most philosophies are. God is Spirit and those who come to Him must come in spirit and worship Him in spirit. May God open your eyes to see and believe.

If It Be Thy Will Prayers

Prayers

Most of us have been taught to pray "If it be thy will prayers". This is to say that we don't really know if it is God's will, but if it is, so be it done. This appears to be the right way to pray as we don't want anything that is not His will. However such prayers also mean that we really don't know how to pray. Jesus knew He had to go to the Cross but prayed " Not my will but thine be done". This is not a if it be thy will prayer. It is a prayer  to confirm that this is God's will although it is a painful task ahead for Him. However many times we use this as an excuse to pray, if it be thy will.

How To Pray?

God has revealed in His word how we ought to pray. We must pray with certainty for what we ask. We must demand that we have what we ask when we ask according to His will. This means we must know His will first. How do we know His will? We know His will through His written word and His Holy Spirit who confirms His word. Should we pray for healing? God's will is that we all be healed and be prosperous. In this fallen world we will be prone to sickness and poverty but this is not God's will. God's perfect will is that we are well and made whole. He allows sickness but this is not His perfect will. Should we pray that we marry a certain person? God desires that we marry and not be consumed by our sexual passions. He won' want us to marry the wrong person who is an unbeliever. How can light walk with darkness? 

God's Will

We can know God's will. Once we know His will then we are to pray with certainty and not waver. Some prayers are answered immediately, like in healing. Others have to be contended for till the answer is received. Stop praying, if it is thy will prayers once you know His will. We must wait in the Spirit till we know His will. We cannot understand God's will through our mind. His Spirit will give us the answer in specific situations. Our mind will then understand. When we begin to pray with conviction than we will begin to see more answers to our prayers. Let us to day ask and not doubt. God's will is that we be whole as our soul prospers. Sickness is not God's will.  Jesus completed His work on the Cross so that we can be free from sickness and poverty. Let us believe this and glorify God. He is waiting to bless us. Are we ready to receive His blessing?

Assurance

The lyrics of this hymn recently crossed my mind and blessed me.

Blessed assurance Jesus is mine. Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine. Heir of salvation, purchase of God. Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

A song written by Fanny Crosby from the depths of her heart. How it resounds of a heavenly sound that resonates through the ages and has blessed millions. This is my song too because I can relate with the words. Jesus is all to me and because of Him I can sing from my heart.

Perfect submission, perfect delight. Visions of rapture now burst in my sight. Angels descending bring from above, echoes of mercy whispers of love.

What a surrender of will that results in perfect delight and rest in the Saviours love. What visions of rapture that delight my soul and delights in the mercy and love of God.

Perfect submission, all is at rest. I in my Saviour am happy and blessed. Watching and waiting, looking above. Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Blessing

How this song blesses me and my heart rejoices in my Saviour,  in His love and mercy. This is our inheritance in Christ and there is no love greater than His. I therefore can praise Him all the day long and share His love with others. 

God inspires His saints and provides downloads from His throne in heaven. This is one of them. Once we have experienced God's supernatural love, we will never be the same again. His love is transformational and changes our nature from a sinner to a saint. Yes we do still struggle with sin and the flesh but we have been redeemed in the spirit. There is no greater love than this. I rejoice in this daily and will do so till my dying day.

When Everything Crumbles Around You, Learn To Live From Within You

Change

We live in a world which is constantly changing. How do we survive in a world system where everything appears to be going against us? We must stay committed to what we believe in. The changes are challenges to where we stand in matters of faith and values. The Bible is a record of how the people of God wandered away from their God in times of change. They were an oppressed people living in an oppressed society. God was always with them and led them by a cloud by day and fire by night. Yet they chose to rebel and follow other gods. They killed the prophets who spoke for God. Are we entering the same period where only a remnant will keep to the faith?

In God We Trust

When troubles come our way do we turn from God or to Him? God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. We live in a fallen world and will be challenged daily on who we will choose to follow. We have to make a choice and stay current in our faith. If we give in to pressure from without then we will compromise and give in. This is the time when we need to live from within us. The Kingdom of God is within us. We need to rely on the resources within us to survive. Our God has made His residence within us and in Him there is abundant supply. No weapon formed against us can overcome us. We need to rely on His word and not on our circumstances. Every thing may appear against us but we can overcome because the overcomer lives in us.

Battle Ready

Imagine how a athlete trains daily to compete in the final race. We too need to train and be ready when the challenge comes. We cannot be caught sleeping because our enemy is like a roaring lion. He knows we are against him and therefore will be against us. We need to be vigilant and ready when he attacks. We will win in the end because Jesus won the battle on the Cross for us. Now we can depend on His victory on our behalf and not fear. We can choose to love and overcome every scheme of the enemy and prevail. Let us not give up but persevere to the end.
