The power to change is within you. God is within you and He is the One who will enable you to change. Every person is on a path at different stages. They share out of their experience and stage. You share out of yours. Everyone is right for they are sharing out of their experience. Acknowledge them and do not judge them. You have a course to travel. Travel in it knowing that He is with you all the way. True wisdom is knowing that God is with each person whether they realise this or not. The God gene is in each person because each is created in His image. However each one chooses to go his own way and only when they come to a place of realisation will they acknowledge their Creator. This is a journey and there are many temptations in the way but those who seek God will be directed to the true path of happiness. This is the path of salvation from self and salvation to God. Self has to die to be liberated from its desires that are contrary to the Spirit. Jesus died a death that He may be Saviour for all. Now it is up to each to receive His life by dying to self. There must be a death to self to experience the life of God. Self seeks to control and be god and in this there is no place for God. God who created you knows what you need and the process of death to self yields abundance that you can never achieve by yourself. So come into Canaan the land of promise by faith in Him and His promises and live today an abundant life.

Life is for living

There are times and seasons when positions and decisions have to be taken to bring about change. The change that is required will not take place easily as there will resistance to change. Most people are happy to stay where they are and not go through with the trouble to change. This is the most soul destroying part of life. To not change and be happy to be stagnant and rot and die. This is the cause of death. A person who is alive is always changing for the better and looking for opportunities to learn and be changed. This is called progress. You never progress by staying still. As long as you are moving means there is hope for change. It is not the end but the journey that matters. Your end is assured so there is no need to fear the future. What you need to do is to enjoy every moment in Him. As long as you breathe you have the capacity to enjoy His life in you. It is not your life but His life in you that makes the difference. With Him in you then you can face any mountain and any predicament knowing He is with you all the time. This is why faith is such a powerful dynamic that causes you to enjoy life to the fullest. Without faith life is a toil for you are going through the motions of living but not really living. Many are already dead in that they have stopped living and are just existing. Only faith can enable them to break out of their tomb and live. Life is for living but many rather choose death then life. What a paradox this is and this is the human dilemma. The things of this world have blinded them from a faith in the living God. They worship the things rather then the Creator.

God's heavenly exchange

19/8/06 God’s heavenly exchange.
The Lord is near you and in you and before you. He is always here with you all the time and for eternity. This is the privilege and inheritance of His children. You must believe this to inherit the promises of His written Word. Many know the promises but fail to believe and therefore do not inherit the substance of the promises. Believe is a verb and therefore demands action. It is not a noun that stands for something else. It is faith in action. This means you must actively pursue the promise till you see evidence of it in your life. The promise that He will never leave you nor forsake you must be actively worked out in situations in life where you feel rejected and lost and know His presence in the midst. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus. He walked on earth and now is sent to abide in you so that you can experience the same love that Jesus has and respond in His love. This is the heavenly exchange that takes place when you exchange your rejection for His love. God knew and He provided the answer, his healing for your disease. What an exchange but the world still rather believe in dead works then in the gospel of salvation. Come now and believe and receive out of His abundance.

Childhood responses to present relationships

12/8/06 Childhood responses to present relationships.
The need to relate on a level with different ages is important to be aware of. If one relates as a parent then you will receive child like responses from the other. If one wants to elicit adult like responses then one needs to relate with the other as an adult and not as a parent or as a child. This dynamic can be seen in every area of life, work, home or in social situations. The perceptions are then related to positions one takes with respect to the other. These are emotional positions that one had as a child. Therefore if one had problems with parent figures then when approaching authority figures in the present will induce fear, guilt, hate or ambivalence. Likewise if one relates with another like a parent then this will induce authoritarian responses to the other which will evoke child like responses from the other. The emotions aroused will paralyse one’s thinking or at least will influence the perceptions of the other. To be aware of these distorted perceptions and feelings is the basis for therapy. This is to work through those ill feelings with a responsible adult and not be stunted by them. Many are not aware of this dynamic that occurs so automatically and overcomes a person in situations. It is best then to take a break, calm oneself and regain one’s position and go back and relate in a more equitable manner. Power relationships have this dynamic of distorting present relationships due to past unresolved and hurt feelings. In Christ one can be Christ in whatever situation and not give into those hurtful feelings of childhood. This is the way to heal the hurt child and be in control of those feelings. Addictions are a symptom of those unhealed feelings that drive one to resort to behaviours that destroy rather then build. The root of those addictions are in hurt feelings of childhood. Once evoked they remain in control at a subconscious level till they are released and the person healed from their torment.

God's Word reveals His mind

22/7/06 God’s Word reveals His mind
The Spirit of the Lord reveals the mind of God. God reveals His mind through His Word and through signs and wonders. His Word is His mind. The events that are reported illustrate how God’s mind works. To know His mind is to know His will. Doing His will is doing His works. God works through our minds. When are minds are in tune with His mind then miracles occur. Therefore fill your mind with God’s Word so that you will think His thoughts towards you. If you fail to fill your mind with His words then the words of the devil and the world will fill it. This is why it is so important that you select what you read and see. These are the gates that allow material to have access to your mind. Your imagination then works on what you feed on to deliver the images to your heart. It is from the heart then that your destiny is determined. Your destiny in God can be hijacked by the devil if you feed your mind on filth. The filth through TV is a tool the devil uses to rob you of your destiny in God. In this age many are trapped and robbed of their destiny in God to a destiny in hell. Therefore read His Word diligently day and night so that you are not led astray from achieving your destiny in God.

Law and grace

The consciousness of God makes a person live on a different dimension to the person who is not. God fills the person’s every thought and word and therefore he can expect greater blessing then just operating in one’s own strength. The prophets spoke what they believed was the word of God. Man speaks what is his word or opinion. Man is limited by his flesh. God is unlimited and therefore a man who knows the mind of God speaks the word of God. The mind receives His word and the mouth says His word. The saying word is like the word of God that is spoken and goes out and reaps the works of the spoken word. This is how God works. He speaks through you and creates what is spoken, a curse or a blessing. Every word that comes from your mouth has the power to destroy or create life. Therefore when you speak forth the word of God, not just scripture but also the now word, received through knowing the mind of God, you bring forth the fruit of the revealed word. This is something that man cannot understand. Many are caged through indoctrination. God’s word liberates. The religions of the world indoctrinate. God gave us His word as a guide and not as a rule book. Man makes it a rule book that binds rather then setting free. Jesus came as the Word of God to show us how to use the scriptures to live and not be bound by it. Therefore He was able to do things on the sabbath which were taboo to the Jews. This is the difference between living by the law and living by grace. Grace fulfils the law but is not bound by the law. God is above the law because He is love. Love is able to bend for the sake of the other. Let the Holy Spirit lead you and you will never be bound any more. A man walking in love is above the law. The law is for sinners to bring them to justice. The law was made for man to lead him to salvation and make him aware of his own sin. Now love fulfils the law and therefore the law is redundant where love is. Jesus revealed God’s love for sinners and in this way fulfilled the law. In Him I am free no more to fear the law but to embrace it and fulfil its demands through the power of love.

Operating in the Spirit

Make a check of the state of your heart each day. From the heart arise the real issues in life. If the state of your heart is sick then it will produce sick fruits. If the state of your heart is ripe with fruit then it will be fruitful. God is the God of the moment and of eternity. When you trust in Him then rivers of living water will flow out of you. For too long you have relied on your own strength. This is not the way God designed you. God designed you to be dependent on Him. He will see you through every step of the way. God wants your heart and this is why He sent Jesus. Jesus has to be all and only to you. This is the only way to be His glory. You are God’s glory. He will provide all you need. A materialistic age will look to things for fulfilment. A man walking in the spirit has his eyes fixed in the eternal. It is short sighted to only think of this life. Many fail and loose heart because they have no eternal vision. This material age will all pass away. What is new today is old tomorrow. So why bother to set goals for material gain. Your Kingdom is in heaven. Fix your eyes in heaven and you will live a heavenly life on earth. The kingdom of God is within you and therefore you can enjoy kingdom pleasures right now in the spirit. Your brain is just a vehicle of your spirit. Your brain is not the end of everything. There is much more to life then the physical. Therefore operate in the spirit and do not give into your fleshly desires.

God's word has the power to transform

10/6/06 God’s word has the power to transform
The power of the Lord is the Holy Spirit. In Him you have eternal power. This power is greater then any earthly power. No earthly power can transform a soul. God’s power is unto salvation. Yet God’s power is not limited in anyway. He spoke the word and the whole world was created through His spoken word. His now word to you is, speak His word and be healed. Yes His word spoken in faith is the power that can transform. Man’s word is limited in its ability to work that work that only God can do. God’s word has transforming power. Therefore when you speak His word it goes out to perform the work. The word and the speaking forth of the word will do what the word says it will do. So do not hesitate to speak forth His word as it has power unimaginable. Yes be careful what you say for as a person in the spirit you have the power to build or destroy. Now you have been set apart to be holy and therefore do not allow any lazy word or careless word be spoken. Holy is the Lord and just as His word is written and spoken to create, so imagine that your word also has the power to create or to destroy. Repent of your sin of careless words and be renewed in the spirit of His word. Come Holy Spirit and transform my spirit through your now word.

The Kingdom of God is of power

5/6/06 The Kingdom of God is of power.
The Kingdom of God is not just words but of power. Power to do and to change. This is what Jesus came to reveal to His people. When the people of God believe in their God then God’s power is available to transform every situation, person and thing. God’s power is not limited in any way, for He is the Creator. He has power over all creation as He created them by the Word of His power. When you experience the transforming power of God then you will desire to move in faith in all things. The power of God is for achieving His Kingdom purpose. You only need His power to achieve that which is impossible in man’s eyes. God proved this by raising Jesus from the dead. Those who have eyes to see will perceive and be transformed. First you must believe then you will see. This seeing is not through the physical eyes but through the eyes of belief. Now you can believe and your belief will take you to another dimension where the spirit world operates. Now you will see things with the eyes of the spirit and your responses will be different. What you see will be what you perceive. Perception then leads to action. Power is released through your belief which then transforms your perception and brings the results of your Godly perception. Everything in the Kingdom of God is a matter of spiritual perception. When the people lost their perception they began to think like animals. Man created in the image of God has the ability to think like God and rule and reign in power over all His created beings, including the angelic and demonic realms. This is the power that is available to you. Now enter in and possess it in Jesus Name.

Walking in the fear of the Lord

4/6/06 Walking in the fear of the Lord
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. This fear is not like the fear of man or animal. This fear is to know God as Father who loves and protects. God desires to have fellowship with His children. To walk in the fear of the Lord is to live in His presence all the time. This is to walk in communion with Him, His Spirit with your spirit. The Holy Spirit in you enables you to walk in power. Power is the capacity to do what you cannot do in your own strength. God is the source of all knowledge and wisdom. Therefore when you walk in the spirit you have access to power that is unavailable outside the spirit. The spirit is eternal and therefore you have access to eternal power. The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of power. If you lack power to do then you are not working in His power but in your own strength which is soulish. Soulish power is different from spirit power. Now when you choose to walk in the fear of the Lord you choose to walk in the power of His love. This is walking in the powerful presence of God. This is to walk like David when he faced Goliath. This is to be able to bring down every word and power that raises its head to counter your faith and trust in God. This is to be able to pull down every stronghold over your life. This is the power of God. Now go forth knowing that all the forces of heaven are for you and against the kingdom of darkness. No weapon formed against you will be able to prosper. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. No philosophy is able to stand against the power of God. God’s Word is the last word. Come Holy Spirit and empower me to walk in the fear of the Lord.

Imagination

What you imagine has the power to build or to destroy. Imagination is the inner eyes of the soul that reflect on the state of your heart. If your heart is gripped by fear then your imagination will be filled with fearful images. If your heart is filled with love then your imagination will be filled with love images. If you are tormented or controlled by lust then images of lust will possess you. The devil works through your imagination to destroy. Dreams are a reflection of the state of your soul.
You have some insight into the state of your soul by studying the main themes of your imagination. You can then take steps to change it. Your imagination is based on your beliefs, which control your thought life and what you will do, or behaviour. When you are filled with God’s Word then you will imagine His works and do them. This is why it is so important what you allow yourself to see and hear. All your senses can influence your imagination. A touch works through your imagination to produce images of love or hate. People who lack this capacity imagine things in order and there is no feeling associated with it other then when the order is disrupted. People who lack imagination have problems in relationships because they are unable to feel and flow with the story line and therefore miss the point. They are good at numbers and figures but lack the capacity to abstract and therefore perceive the deeper meaning of situations. The ability to abstract is related to imagination.
Imagination is the God given ability to see with the mind’s eye and to form a picture that enables you to feel and enjoy life to its fullness. Without imagination life is a boring grey with no colour.
Therefore check what you imagine for it can lead you to fear the worst or enjoy the best. Fear fuels your imagination and this is what leads to anxiety and depression.
Key to success is in imagining that which leads to success.

Commune in the spirit

15/5/06 Commune in the spirit
The Father is spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit. Any other mode of communication does not reach the Father. One must communicate spirit to spirit. Communication can occur through different modes, physical, emotional and spiritual. Because the Father is a spirit being, one needs to communicate to Him through your spirit. This is where one fails to communicate with the Father because one communicates through the intellect. The blindness that occurs is because of not communicating in the right mode. Paul communicated to the Jews about the things of the spirit but only those who discerned in the spirit, perceived. You are a spirit being and when you communicate in the spirit then the other person who is open to the spirit will perceive and believe. Believing is a spiritual activity. Believe from the head is not true belief. In the spirit one intuits the real. The real in the spirit is what is truth. Truth in the physical realm is not the same as that which is intuited in the spirit. So when one worships in spirit and in truth it is the worship in spirit and in the truth of the spirit. Many try and understand the things of the spirit through their intellect and get confused. Much learning in this area is useless to growth in the spirit. To understand the spirit world one needs to operate in the dimension of the spirit. This is why many are led astray through ignorance. In the spirit you operate in a mode that is above the physical and psychological. You are a spirit being and in the spirit you can be in any place at anytime. You can transport yourself in the spirit and intervene in situations through prayer. This is why Paul was able to be in the spirit with those he wrote his letters to. This spiritual communication occurs between God and man and man and man. Animals do not have the spirit of man as they are not created in the image of God. Praying in tongues is a quick way to enter into the realm of the spirit and to minister in the spirit. Therefore do not be distracted by words of man but rely on the spirit to help you to intuit His knowledge through His Spirit in you.

God's address

Where is God’s address? God’s address is in you. He resides in you. Therefore His address is you. What a powerful thought. If God’s address is in me then I am where God is. God is everywhere but He has chosen to reside in me and in everyone who is washed by the blood of Jesus. God cannot reside in one who is not washed. God’s presence is around us but He can only reside in those who have been washed in the blood of His Son, Jesus. His sacrifice is the only sufficient means of entrance into His personal presence in you. God cannot stand in the presence of sin because He is sinless. The only answer to sin is His blood. Just as the spirit of death passed over the doors painted with the blood so also sin cannot have dominion over you in His presence. It is His presence in you that enables you to defeat all evil and the tempter of your soul. His presence in you will enable you to see as He sees and feel as He feels. You become like Him as you see and feel like Him. When you see and feel like Him then you will behave like Him. This is how you will represent Him on earth. What a marvellous transaction. Paul reasoned and witnessed to this fact and many were saved from eternal damnation. Your life given up for His cause will also bear the same fruits of redemption. Only the blood of Jesus can do this. All who are called will be saved.

God guides your steps

God guides His people through visions, dreams and thoughts. You will be aware of His guidance as you look back and see His hand in everything even in the negative events in your life. God allows these things for a purpose. God is good and like a loving Father He will use the negative events to produce character in you. In the final analysis this is what counts. It is not riches or fame that matter but the legacy of character and values you stand for that others will emulate and remember. God has given His Word as a guide and a testament of His character and plans so that nations who call Him Lord can know and believe in Him. Faith demands trust in Him and His Word. Many will distort His Word for their own purposes but He never changes. The God of the Old Testament is the same as the new. The violence portrayed in the old is evidence that justice will prevail and that He is no respecter of persons. His laws will reap their due reward or judgement. This is a universal principle. You can’t hide for long from your sin. Your sin will be exposed and you will be judged. Whole nations were judged as an example of how God will judge nations. He will spare the righteous but His plans and ways are eternal and not limited to this time. Therefore He is able to do what pleases Him and no man is able to judge Him. He is the Creator and He is the final judge. Therefore walk in the fear of Him who can destroy the body but spare the soul.

There is no other way but through Christ

The man who puts his trust in the Lord will never lack anything. His trust is in the Lord and from Him he will obtain all things he needs for abundant living. Abundant living is a state of the heart and not of the mind. The heart that is in communion with God knows that everything comes from Him and goes to Him. Such a heart rests in the sure knowledge of God’s salvation and never fears the future. This is abundant life, to know Him and His salvation. There is nothing you can do or say that can add to the salvation He has wrought through His death. This is the good news that should be proclaimed for all to hear that Jesus is alive and He is coming back for His own. There is nothing that can satisfy the hunger of man without Christ. Man will seek after riches and glory and fame but these will never satisfy. They give an illusion of satisfaction but is empty. So make this the mission of your life, to make known the Saviour of the world that many may come into the joy of his salvation.

Boundaries

10/4/06 Boundaries
Boundaries are like walls that keep one safe and separate from the other. Boundaries are necessary to keep one safe from the intrusions of the other. When one’s boundaries are blurred then it is possible for another to transgress and enter one’s space. Personal space is personal and another cannot come in unless allowed to do so. What separates one from another enables each to respect each other. Where there is’nt a clear boundary then all other transgressions will take place. Abuse of any kind is a result of blurred boundaries. An insecure identity is related to blurred boundaries. A secure identity gives rise to clear boundaries as the secure identity knows what one’s limitations are. Limitations are a good sign of maturity. Limits define one’s ability to take a course of action which is within one’s abilities. Without these limits one tends to try anything and hopes one hits a target. Blurred boundaries lead to lack of direction and purpose. A person who lacks boundaries is like a bull without a fence to keep them in. When fences are broken intruders will come in and take residence.
There are physical boundaries and emotional boundaries. Physical boundary defines an area which can be seen. Emotional boundaries are unseen but can be defined by the language used to define relationships. When one speaks for another then there is a blurred boundary in that relationship. When one makes decisions without consulting the other then this is a sign of a blurred relationship or a dysfunctional relationship. In families blurred boundaries give rise to all kinds of transgressions which result in conflict and bad feelings.
In the spirit realm also there are boundaries. Evil will cross boundaries where there is’nt a boundary. The blood of Jesus is a boundary. Your faith is a boundary. Forces that seek to usurp your position in Christ is an enemy. These forces can be spiritual or material. There is no limit in the ways the devil can distract you from your chief calling. Therefore beware of your boundaries. When you feel confused and indecisive then you know that someone or something has transgressed your boundary. When a boundary is broken then a person will be filled with fear and doubt. Fear then controls you and leads you to break down internally and this leads to anxiety, depression and sometimes even psychosis. All these are a result of boundary transgression. Such transgression occurs when one allows one’s boundary to be transgressed because of not taking action to guard your boundary or allowing external forces to transgress it by default.
The solution is to be sure of your identity by accepting yourself and working towards repairing your boundaries. This will then lead to clear and direct communication which will then enable you to be clear in your decisions. Clear thinking leads to clear decisions which lead to goals being achieved and success.

Deliverance from sin and the power of sin

9/4/06 Deliverance from sin and the power of sin.

The anointing comes as Jesus is proclaimed Lord of your life. No devil can stay for long in a place where Jesus is pro-claimed Lord. He cannot hide in darkness for the Light of the world will expose him and he will be blinded by the light of Christ. This is what He came to do, to set free those who were in bondage to sin and the devil. Sin gives the devil the right to take residence. The blood of Jesus is the only cleansing agent for the problem of sin. Sin and the curse of sin is cancelled at the Cross and the captive is set free once and for all. This is the salvation that Jesus came to provide for the sin problem. Now you are free to live like God in-tended you to live. Once you come to the realisation of this truth then everything changes accordingly. Change in your perceptions, relationships and goals. Satan will want to keep you down but God will push you up and out of his prison. God is your Deliverer and He will deliver you from all evil. Trust Him to guide you and lead you along the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake. Thankyou Lord for your deliverance.

KERALAVAKAYIL FAMILY written by Mr. Keralavakayil Mathunny Mathai, Ala, Chengannur, Kerala, India in 1990

The ancestral history of the family is shrouded in oblivion and I have only heard from the hearsay what little information I posses about its origin. Its history is rooted in the distant past and people who claimed to know about it have passed away and the succeeding generations are totally in the dark. All I can remember is that the family originated from the Royal family of Kayankulam at a time the native Rajahs were in power. They were Kohatrias, a warring race of high caste Brahmins. It so happened that there was some trouble with the ruling Rajah and three of his brothers. The 3 brothers in vengeance murdered the Rajah and to escape punishment moved to distant places then under the Maharajah of Trivandrum who defeated the minor Rajahs and established sovereignty over their territories. The Rajah of Kayankulam remained independent and refused to accept the sway of the Rajah of Trivandrum and hence was his enemy. Now that the Rajah of Kayankulam was disposed off, his assassins became favourites of the Rajah of Trivandrum and as such were given special favours like free occupation of land and freedom from land tax etc. which these people enjoyed for generations. One of the 3 brothers settled in our house, the second a few miles away and the third some 15 miles away at a place called Konni. There were frequent contacts between these and one man from Konni used to visit us in my childhood and with his death the bond was broken.

The man who made his home here became eminent among the Hindhus and was treated with great respect. He had great landed properties and he had great influence among the local people. How many generations succeeded him is unknown. All I know was that my great granfather had sons, the elder of whom had his home at Kanianthrayil closeby and the younger in the family home. By that time or long before that time they became Christians. There was only one church under the See of Antioch. The Patriarch of Antioch administered the church through their bishops sent directly by the Patriarch. They thus became members of the Jacobite church. Later when the reformation in the church split the church in two, Jacobites and Marthomites, the members of the family elected to join the reformed church.

The younger brother of our great grandfather had no children when his wife passed away and a few years later he married a widow with 2 sons and 2 daughters and moved from the family home to the neighbouring property where he put up a house for his new wife and her children and left the family home to my father. It is noteworthy that my grandfather was one of the three, one each from Cherianad, Puliyoor and Ala who were mainly responsible for the construction of the Mar Thoma church at Puliyoor which we are all using at present. This is all in the church records. Besides this he gave away one and a half acres of land to the then CMS church at the request of their bishop. The converts belong to the backward race and they have been functioning ever since.

My father passed away at 68 years of age when I was 19 years of age and had just passed the lower certificate leaving 3 brothers and 3 sisters, the eldest of whom was already married to Mr. K. Geeverghese of Kaithaina, Kozhencherri. My 2 brothers were also married and my younger sister was also married before the death of my father. The 2 brothers built their own homes and moved into them. My mother and youngest sister lived in the family home and later when she was married her husband also stayed to look after mother and his wife. The younger sister was married to Mr. K. Mammen Eappen Karottuhruse, Nedungadapally near Mallappally. My eldest sister who is still alive and 91 years of age has 5 sons and a daughter. The eldest son K.V. Verghese was the Principal of the Mar Thoma College Kozencherri for several years. A few years after his retirement he passed away leaving behind his wife and 3 sons, all doctors and a daughter who is a lecturer in the Mar Thoma college. The sons have married doctors and the daughter another doctor. The second son George took after his father as a merchant and the third was in Kuwait with the British bank. The fourth son was employed in Bangalore telephone manufacturing company and the fifth is also a merchant.

My eldest brother K. M. Varghese who passed away in 1983 had 2 sons and 2 daughters. One of the sons is a priest of the orthodox church and the other an employee in the Indian railways in Madya Pradesh.

Next to him was K. M. John who also passed away in 1985 and left 6 sons and a daughter.

My youngest sister was married to an agriculturist Mr. C. C. Chacko who passed away in 1982. He has a son Prof. C. C. Phillip MSc who retired as Professor of Physics in the Kerala University College, Trivandrum in 1986. He has settled in Trivandrum. His 3 sons are engineers and the fourth is jobless now. His mother sold their property in Ala and has joined her son in Trivandrum.

I was born on 17th August 1907 and had my primary education in Kozhencherri, Cherianad and Ala schools after which I studued upto Form 3 at the Kodukulanji middle school and then Form 4 and 5 and 6 at the High School, Chengannur. I passed the SSLC exam in 1928. My father Mathunny Mathunny passed away soon after my results were announced. We were at that time in financial difficulties but my mother was very keen that I should go for further education. She borrowed Rs 300/- from my eldest brother in law in Kozchencherri by mortgaging our property. With that sum I joined St. Berchmans College Changanacherry for the Intermediate course. In 1929 I got married to Aleyamma in Kozchencherri. My father in law Simon Mathai was also in bad financial predicament and he borrowed some money from my brother in law on mortagage of his property at Kadamanitta. In 1930 I passed the Intermediate examination of the Madras University and proceeded to St. Thomas College Trichur for the BA course in Economics. I passed the degree exam in 1932. For almost a year I remained unemployed. Then in 1933 I left for Malaya where one of my wife's uncle Mr. V.A. Mathew was working as a teacher in a goverment school in Johor. I stayed with him in Segamat for about 6 months when I was offered a job in a private school, Penual High School in Kuala Lumpur. Later I was offered a post in the YMCA school where I worked for 6 months. I secured a place in the KKM school of commerce in Kuala Lumpur where I worked until the South Asia war in 1940. My wife and eldest son Mathew came over to Kula Lumpur in 1940 just before the outbreak of the war. We had a horrowing time until the end of the war in 1945. Mathew was born on 21/11/1933.

On 1/5/1940 my daughter Anne was born at Kula Lumpur. I was taken on the staff of St. Johns Institution Kuala Lumpur on 1/1/1941 and had to learn and teach the Japanese language until the Japanese surrendered in 1945 under the British military administration I worked at St. Johns school when in 1946 I was offered a teaching post in Kluang English School in January 1946. I continued teaching here till my transfer to Segamat High School in 1949. While in Kluang John was born on 18/8/47. He had his primary education in Segamat and later in Batu Pahat early in 1959. I was promoted to special grade in 1960 and became the Headmaster of High School Batu Pahat in which capacity I remained till September 1967. From 1964 I was supervisor of the Regional training centre at Batu Pahat. John passed his Cambridge School certificate exam in 1964 and had his higher secondary course at Johor Bahru till 1966 when he came to India and joined the medical course in Nagpur. On his passing the exam he was admitted to the MBBS course at the Government Medical College Nagpur.

Molly after passing her school certificate exam at High School Segamat came to St. Thersa College for her pre medical course which she passed in first class but since she could not get admission to the medical college she had to join the BSc course. A few months later she was admitted to the Trivandrum Medical College for MBBS. After taking her degree and doing her housemans year she came back to Malaysia in 1967 and was employed at the Medical College Kuala Lumpur. Later she was transferred to the General Hospital Kuala Lumpur where she worked for 2 years when she took leave to go to UK for specialisation in paediatrics. She completed the course in 1971 and came over to Ala to see us in 1971 October and was with us till 9/12/71 when we saw her off to Kuala Lumpur from Trivandrum. When we returned we heard the news on the radio her plane had crashed at Meha Malai near Madurai. She was one of the victims of the crash. We went to the place and were told her body had been removed to the general hospital Madurai. We picked up the body and came back home by 1pm. A large crowd awaited the corpse and the next day the body was buried at the cemetry of our parish church at Puliyoor.

Rachel the youngest daughter was born at Segamat on 4/8/51. She had her primary education at the Convent School Batu Pahat and her secondary education at the Goverment Girls School Batu Pahat. After passing her Cambridge School Certificate examination she returned to Ala with us. She joined the pre medical course at Nagpur and on obtaining first class in that exam was admitted to the Medical College, Ludhiana. On taking her degree she joined the staff of the College and later joined the MD course in pathology at the Central Medical Institue at Chandigarh. She passed in first class with first rank and was employed at the Medical College Ludhiana. She was married to Roy Oommen at Kachukushi Vennikulam an electronics engineer then employed at the B.P.I Bangalore. Later she was appointed at the Sri Chitra Medical Institute at Trivandrum. Roy resigned his job at Bangalore and joined her at Trivandrum where he remained unemployed and finally left for England after 2 years. Luckily he obtained a job in England as medical electronics engineer. At his instance she resigned her job at Sri Chitra and joined him in England. Later she obtained a job in London. She passed the first part of MRCP.

Mr. K.M. Mathai passed away on 1/7/91 and Mrs. Aleyamma Mathai on 2/7/91.

The senses always lead you to self-gratification. The senses are self-centered and never thinks of the other. The Spirit always thinks of the other. God is always thinking of you and your best interests. Jesus displayed this same characteristic in thinking of others and that is according to God’s command to always think of the other. Anytime you think that self is needing attention, then you know that you are operating in the flesh. The spirit is always looking out for others to meet their need, heal their hurt or help solve their problems. God has placed you in a position where you can meet the needs of others. Self-centredness is the curse of sin which always turns you inwards. Confront this sin in yourself and also in others. It is this selfish strain that has been the cause of wars and traumas and defeat. A selfless man is one who is truly free. Jesus was selfless because He knew that His Father was looking out for His needs. You also can be sure that your heavenly Father is looking out for your needs. Therefore today look out for the needs of others for love and peace and joy.

The fast of the Lord

The fast of the Lord is a discipline of spiritual engagement. To fast is to discipline your body to take second place to your spirit. The spirit has to rule the body otherwise you become a slave to the temptations of the body. The body is ruled by the senses. When you choose to fast then you choose to walk by the Spirit and not gratify the desires of the flesh. The flesh needs to be subdued and can only be subdued by the spirit working in you. This is to walk in joy and not in slavery. Slavery to the desires of the flesh is like bondage. You are bound by the desires of the flesh and therefore are a slave to fleshly demands. To be free from these demands is to be free to choose God’s will over your own will and bodily desires. Many try to do this by punishing the flesh. Yet there is a easier way and that is to cast your burdens on the Lord. In this way He carries your burdens and you are free to live above the desires of the flesh. This is true freedom. Your choice leads to your destiny. What a life of victory to be able to operate outside demands of the flesh and to rule like a king. It is your bodily desires and feelings that you need power to overcome and this power is freely available to you through Christ. Now let the fast of the Lord bring you to a place of total freedom.

True integration leads to abundant living

The power of God is seen in signs and wonders. These are happening all around you, yet man assumes it is just by nature. All God’s wonders and His handiwork are seen in His works. All of nature proves that God is. Yet man thinks that all that is, is by chance. This is the problem that has led many to forsake God and live by their own god, created in their own image. This is the cause for so much degradation that you see around the world. Man who proclaims himself as god has displaced God. This is the story from the beginning of creation. It is only when man returns to worship God and not self, that true integration can occur in oneself and in society at large. Man governs by separation while God governs by integration. Man has problems integrating because he cannot cope with the whole and therefore has to separate the whole into parts. In this process he divides and rules. God unites while man divides. In this division is the problem. The split parts don’t know each other and therefore come to wrong conclusions. Is’nt this the problem throughout society that we divide and therefore separate and live in isolation from one another through race, colour or sex. True integration brings a harmony to soul, body and spirit and this harmony is what is seen in the Godhead of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Now let the Holy spirit harmonise all three into one in you and see what will be an abundant experience.

Living in His presence

His presence and glory is with you always. You walk covered in His glory even if you can’t feel it or see it. His glory is like a mist that covers you and others can see it over you but not yourself. This is a mystery and only those who are discerning can see it. The devil sees it and hates it as His blood covers and protects you. He cannot penetrate the glory of God. Imagine what an awesome picture this is of His covering over you. He has called you and purchased you with His blood so that you can experience His presence and His love. His love is around you even when you don’t feel it. His presence is always with you because He never changes. God lives in the eternal now. The material world will make you think that what you see is all there is. However God lives forever and in Him you are an eternal being. Nothing is lost in Him. So do not confine your thinking to the material realm. Enlarge yourself in God and see how big you are in Him. It is this that will raise your vision above the material realm to source the spiritual for all your needs. You then become an instrument in His hands to do His will. You are and become who you subject yourself to. When you subject yourself to God then you become like Him in your thoughts, feelings and outlook. Come to the river of God and swim in it and live in the eternal now and experience His love, joy and peace.

The Lord knows all

The Lord knows and He cares. He cares for all irrespective of who they are. All were created in His image and therefore He cares for all. All who call on His name will be saved. There is no restriction. He calls to save. He knows of the power of sin and so he forgives those who call on His Name. He is the only One who can forgive unconditionally. This is why He is God. There is no other Name under heaven by which man can be saved. If you know God’s heart then you will share His message of salvation to all. He loves every child because He created each one. The damage due to sickness and disease are because of sin and He knows what you are made of. He knows the secrets of your heart. He knows that the devil causes these things that work against you. He knows the thoughts and intents of the heart. Now come to Him who knows all and yet chooses to forgive. Once you have tasted His forgiveness and have been set free from guilt then you truly are free to be a vessel of His glory.

All negativity and evil is Satanic. Therefore renounce and destroy every evil and negative inclination of your flesh which is powered by the devil to destroy relationships and individuals. Satan’s prime role is to steal, kill and destroy. He will use anyone, anywhere to fulfil his mission. He is no respecter of persons. His evil works can be seen all around you. Bind him and his works. Do not allow the works of darkness to seduce you to partner with them. Every hint of evil and negativity must be brought to the Cross and de-stroyed by the power of the Cross and His blood. The Cross applied to the flesh life is a sure way of resisting its de-mands. The blood applied to the sin life is a powerful way to cleanse you from all sin. Yes all sin, past and present and future. Jesus is Lord must be your song all day as you bring everything inside and outside to subjection to His Lordship. In this way the Lord is glorified. It is as His body on earth take up their arms and pray that the Kingdom of God comes into action and is established on earth. Take your place where God has placed you and subdue your enemies.

Walking by faith is the only way to please God. God can only be known by faith. Faith is that spiritual factor that enables a person in accessing the spiritual dimension. Faith becomes fact as you experience the touch of God by faith. Faith is the vehicle that enables you to reach beyond the material dimension into the spirit dimension. It is the ca-pacity to know what is beyond and receive from resources unseen. The mind of man is not just his brain. The mind of God communicates with the mind of man. God can sow thoughts into you as you reach out to Him in faith. His thoughts are higher then man’s thoughts. With His thoughts you can climb any mountain. His ways are beyond man’s ways. Everything requires faith but then man fools himself that he does it in his own strength. This is foolish-ness because your every breath is dependent on faith. You believe you will continue breathing not by fact but by faith. This is why man is deceived in thinking that all he sees is all there is. He has blinded himself to the fact that the whole universe is held in motion by faith. Who can control the weather or the seasons? Man can manipulate the effects but not the cause. Light can be used to brighten the dark-ness but where does light come from? It is only when we acknowledge God in all our ways that we will live an abun-dant life. This knowledge is what will keep you through all the uncertain times. He will be there and will guide you. Yes see how God will open doors where all seem closed. Your will be done in my life O, Lord.

Life in the Spirit

The challenge of each day is the extent you will choose each day to walk in the spirit or in the flesh. These 2 states determine the outcome of your day. The walk in the spirit is love, joy and peace. In the spirit you are completely submitted to the Lord. No untoward thought or feeling will interfere with your walk. You live in the moment for the moment. There is no thought of the past or the future. Everything is an eternal now. In this state you have all of God’s resources at your feet and all you need to do is ask. This is the walk of faith. There is nothing that you can’t do for all His resources are available to you. Even money is not a problem for He owns everything that you see. In this state you are able to surmount any problem and situation. All wisdom is available to you. Revelational knowledge will be given to you. This is the state that God wants you to operate in. This is the position you need to be operating from in Christ. Yet this is what you fail to operate in and from. You loose sight of the great command and regress to the state of the flesh. In the flesh you are in control and therefore are limited in your responses. In the spirit God is in control and anything can happen. Therefore do not rely on your resources but operate freely from your position in Christ, seated in heavenly places with Christ. What a dynamic shift this will be for body, soul and spirit. Come Holy Spirit and help me today to live each moment for the moment.

The shadow is just the illusion of what is in the inside of you. This part of you is against the Holy Spirit and seeks to confuse and disrupt your walk with the Lord. You need to take a offensive stance towards your shadow. In this area do demons dwell. The truly possessed are controlled by their shadow. Everyone has a shadow part. It is to the de-gree that their shadow controls them that results in their peace or torment. Only the blood of Jesus can cleanse you from the influence of your shadow. As you walk in the real-ity of the power of the blood you are cleansed from the dis-ease of the shadow. The shadow holds all that you have in-herited from your family line and also the experiences you have had with darkness and sin. The more you expose yourself to darkness the more your shadow will oppress you. Many are unaware of their shadow and are alerted to its presence only in times of crisis. The neurotic copes through his defences to control the expression of his shadow. The psychotic has lost control and his shadow has broken through his defences and now controls all his thoughts and feelings. It is the shadow part of you that needs to be brought to the Cross and be delivered from its control over you. Many have crucified the flesh and its works by submitting themselves to the work of the Cross by faith. Jesus said it is finished and now by faith you can re-ceive the freedom from the oppression of your shadow by claiming the victory through the Cross. This is the message of salvation. Only the blood of Jesus can completely set you free from the devil and sin. Come to the Cross and be saved.

The power of the subconscious mind to heal and restore is unimaginable. This is the powerhouse of the Holy Spirit. He resides in your subconscious mind. When you enter into your subconscious state you are more receptive to the Holy Spirit and your own spirit. The Holy Spirit is your leader and guide. When you give Him the place He is due then all things flow together to achieve His purposes. Therefore learn to operate from your subconscious and see what a difference it makes to your daily walk and talk. He is above the material world and therefore you have access to the immaterial world. From this position in Christ you are able to operate on a plane above the material. You will come face to face with ethereal forces and know what it means to do spiritual warfare. This is where God resides and He works from above to establish His will. You come in line with His will to accomplish His work on earth. This is what it means to do His will and advance His Kingdom. So be bold and very courageous for the Kingdom of God is within you.

The subconscious mind needs to be brought into operation to aid your actions. One way to do this is through self-hypnosis. You enable your subconscious mind to come to the fore and allow the conscious to take a back seat. Most of the time you are operating with your conscious mind. This is limited in its potential to bring about change as it is controlled by your senses. There is no limit for the subconscious because it is beyond the limit of the senses. The subconscious transcends the physical and seeks for answers in the metaphysical. This is the realm of the spiritual. In God you are protected from forces that are not aligned with your belief system. When you are grounded in the Word then you have nothing to fear. You operate from the basis of His Word to receive His promises through your subconscious mind which is linked with the Holy spirit. Your emotions and will are also subject to the subconscious mind. As you practice this you attain more focus and in this way sharpen your faculties to breakthrough in areas where this far you have met with blockade. In all areas of your being the key is to get your subconscious to cooperate with you. If your subconscious is against something then it won’t work. If you believe that Jesus Christ is alive then you will walk as if He is. However if your subconscious disagrees with this then you will find yourself in conflict and therefore frustrated in your attempts to live according to His calling. Prayer in the spirit is to operate in the spirit. Meditation is a similar activity in the spirit. You can love in the spirit or with your feelings. Loving in the spirit is what agape love is all about. You can operate in the flesh or in the spirit. For a Christian living life in the spirit is what it is all about.

Most people walk in defence because they walk in fear. Fear of the consequences of their action. Defence is like taking no action and the status quo exists. Many live all their lives in defence and never really know how to live. This is the predicament of the masses. It’s only those who have overcome fear that can live life fearlessly. This is to live life in the offensive. This is to take charge and not give in to popular opinion or peer pressure. A man who knows himself lives life according to his knowledge and his actions are congruous with his beliefs. A man who is defensive lives in fear and is not sure of his actions and therefore never goes anywhere. Defensive living bears a high cost physically and emotionally. It is stressful living and not stress free living. When a man knows himself and is prepared to take responsibility for his actions then there is nothing to fear. This is stress free living. The stress that is generated through offensive action is transmuted into energy to carry out the action rather then defence. This is why you need to abandon all to Jesus so that you can live in offensive action in His love. When you are at peace at the centre of your being then you no longer live to please others but to please God.

Prayer is the way for a man of God to maintain intimacy with God. This is the main means of communication with God. The busyness of life is a distraction to time spent with God. Limit your distractions by choosing to only attend to those activities that demand your attention. Why spend your time in useless activity when you can spend it in prayer. Prayer is giving of your time to God to minister to you and through you to others. God will bring situations and people to your attention and He will work through your prayers to establish what is in heaven on earth. This is the way you establish His Kingdom on earth. Remember God has an army of angels who are at work and these angels carry His mission to men to fulfil it. The whole earth is the Lord’s and He will do His work through His angels. Each man has a guardian angel and this angel will minister through your prayers. Each man has the opportunity to do right and resist evil. Your prayers will enable him to choose what is right. See how important prayer is. There is a lot of talk but one must minister in the spirit to reach the mind and heart of God. The reason many prayers are not answered is due to unbelief. In the spirit you can bypass the hindrances of your mind and breakthrough into the spirit realm. This is why many are sick because they minister through their mind rather then through their spirit. Come Holy Spirit and minister through me to a dry and thirsty land.

The evil within a person is what causes the problems in relationships. When the evil within is addressed then relationships become easy to handle. As long as the evil within is seen as a result of the other person’s evil then it becomes difficult to relate. Psychosis results from a state of loss of insight to one’s own evil. Most of the evil is seen as coming from without like voices and visions of oppression. The most disturbing are the ones that make the person feel he is under the control of someone else. This is just an extreme of what is normally experienced. Therefore a person who has come to the place of accepting one’s own evil or sin is at the place of deliverance and healing. This is the only place of healing. The world is in the naming and blaming game which is why terrorism thrives in a society where paranoia is rive. This means that fear has taken over and where fear rules, terrorism of every kind rules. Bullying is a symptom of fear. The underlying spirit must be confronted before change is possible. Therefore address your own devils. Confront your thoughts of evil and then you will be able to separate your thoughts from the thoughts of the other. Sharing your thoughts and opinions as yours enables the other to express theirs freely. This is the basis of good harmonious relationships – open and free communication with no hidden agendas. This breeds trust and creates an atmosphere of love.

Whatever is not from faith is sin

This is the command that we need to live in dependence on God in all things and at all times otherwise we walk in sin and not in righteousness. The righteousness of God demands that we walk in the light as He is in the light. Jesus always looked to His Father and was dependent on His Father and did what He saw His Father doing. This is how we need to walk too. Then none of the pressures that we put upon ourselves will affect us because we trust all to the Father. This is what eternal life is all about. We are safe and secure in His hands and there is nothing that will happen to us without the Father’s consent. Even Satan had to have permission to tempt Eve in the garden of Eden. God allowed this to happen and He gives us all a choice. If we call on His Name then he will give us the resources to overcome. The life in us is eternal and therefore is not limited by death and grows in us as an everlasting life bearing fruit to eternity. Walking by faith is to renounce all other ways and live in His love alone. Then you will find that the old patterns of defensive living loose their hold on you and you come alive to what is now. No more worries of the future or regrets of the past but only new life in the Spirit.

Faith is the key to abundance

Faith is the key to abundance in God. The abundance within will manifest itself without. A man of faith will demonstrate his faith through his works. The seed of faith is in you and will grow to be a tree that will spread many seeds for the Kingdom. Your words are like seeds. When you speak in faith you plant seeds in hearts. Seeds that find good ground will burst forth into fruition. Seeds that find barren ground will die. So also when you walk by sight you sow seeds that are limited by sight. You can only grow seeds that are seen. Seeds that are of the Spirit are eternal and therefore produce fruit of eternal value. This world and the systems of this world are based on sight and not on faith. The Kingdom of God is based on faith and therefore cannot be seen except through works. This is why faith must trust God to produce the fruit of faith. Prayer is one way of sowing in the spirit and reaping in the flesh. There are two worlds and you reap from the world you sow in. In the spirit you sow and reap in the spirit and in the flesh. The spirit world is above the physical world and includes it. Therefore when you sow in the spirit, you will reap the benefits in the flesh too. Faith hears and obeys and obedience leads to works. Therefore walk in the spirit and reap in the spirit and enjoy abundance.

Gift of discernment

Just as there are spirits behind words so also there are spirits behind names and characters. A spirit is a force that is transmitted through words and character. A helpful spirit helps. A negative spirit breeds negativity. Many are unaware of the spirit behind their words and character. They only judge other’s through their behaviour, what they can sense. Spirits need to be discerned and not sensed. Sensations are based on your physical senses. The spirit behind a word or gesture can only be discerned by the spirit within a person. So when you walk around you pick up the spirit in a place or person. This is the gift of discernment. When you discern a negative spirit this repulses you and therefore you keep away from the person or place. Now as a Christian you are to discern the evil spirit and then to bind it so that the person is free to be and not controlled by the evil spirit. Once the evil spirit is bound then the person is free to express himself without being controlled by the evil spirit. This is how you are able to know the person and not be put off by the spirit that indwells the person. Many cover up the real spirit and this is deception. Evil spirits operate through deception. The gift of discernment enables you to discern the spirit behind the cover up and then be able to bind it. Many are the manifestations of the evil spirit but it is only the discerning who are able to see and therefore not judge prematurely. God has called you to move in this gift so that you can bind the spirit and release the victim.

Security in the Father's love

The key to the management of anxiety is to place all in the Father’s hands. Your confidence in the Father is what will enable you to stand against all the forces human and ethereal that come against you. It is this confidence in the Father’s love that Jesus had and you have. This is the secret to all ailments physical and mental. Man has lost the security of knowing the Father heart of God. He is your Father and He will keep you safe. In Him is life and that eternal. What more can you ask then a security that is eternal and available now. In this is your confidence. Man’s opinions and theories are susceptible to change and therefore are temporary. Look all around you and see how much you have and rejoice in your inheritance. The world has nothing to offer that can surpass the love of God. In this is your security and destiny. Therefore do not let the daily problems of life cause you to be anxious for in Him you have all the tools you need to overcome.

Sexuality is the God given identity that makes you who you are. A distortion of your sexuality is what sin and Satan try to do to rebel against this God given attribute. Security in your sexual identity makes you who you are. Satan will try and distort this role and the rise of feminism is an example of this distortion. All movements that are driven to rebel against the norm instituted by God is Satanic. This is why you need to discern what spirit is behind every behaviour and movement. Even political parties are driven by a spirit. Those who are driven by satanic forces will deceive by putting up a front in the name of religion or god. Thus several movements have arisen only to confuse and deceive. You have been given the gift of discernment not only to discern between right and wrong but also to identify the spirit behind the action. Any foul spirit needs to be bound so that the action perpetrated will lose power in its manifestation. You have the power to bind and to loose in Jesus name. Do it and see a liberty and peace that follows this binding. Bind the evil one and lose the victim so that he/she can choose what is good. This choice can be limited in many ways because an individual who is bound by the spirit of rejection cannot choose what is good. When the spirit of rejection is bound then the victim can choose to receive love. Here is the key for you today and that is to bind the forces of evil so that the individual is free to choose what is good. In states of possession the victim is not free till the evil is cast out.

Spiritual forces are at the root of many problems hat man faces. However because of the materialistic view of man these are not addressed and therefore problems continue. The present debate about science and ID are basically a battle in the spiritual realms. It’s only when one understands and sees the problem in the spirituals that one stops fighting the battle in the physical. This is why it is important that spirituality is taught in our education systems so that our children are aware of these forces. The church needs to rise up and warn as this generation is blind and cannot see. The blind cannot lead the blind. All the parties and celebrations are a replacement for the true joy and happiness. What is seen is a counterfeit to the real. We are spiritual beings yet we neglect the spiritual because we fail to see. When we see we will change our perceptions accordingly. Then relationship difficulties are no more fought in the physical realm but in the spirituals. These unseen forces control nations and people groups. Wake up and see and bind the forces of evil that rule to destroy. Jesus saw and therefore did not respond in human ways but saw beyond the human realm and therefore subdued the forces of evil and overcame them through His death and resurrection. Resurrection is proof that life is not just material existence but more then that.

God’s word is the final word in all aspects to do with Him and His plans for mankind. He is the Creator and His word is the blueprint for living. Anything other then His word is not His word and therefore is an adulteration. God gave His word as a template for living. What is in the world is a rebellion to His word as it is a product of a compromise with sin. If man does not have a solution for sin then the only way to deal with it is through compromise. God’s way is to deal with sin and not compromise with it. He has given man the way out through His Spirit. Man chooses to go his own way to destruction. God has come to give life but man chooses death. This is the story from the beginning of time and will be to the end. Those who find Christ, find life and that abundant. The Spirit longs for many to come into His liberty from the shackles of sin. Man has to choose and his choice will determine his destiny. Let God’s word provide you with His power to cancel all that is of sin and bring you to the place of total freedom in Christ.

Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of the Lord. Words of scripture are the bread that feed the soul. Many deprive their soul by feeding on the words of man rather then on scripture. The Bible contains the Word of God which is different from the words of other scriptures. It is different because the Word has life while words provide knowledge. Knowledge alone cannot provide life. They are vehicles for communication but do not have life in them. God’s written word has inherent power because they are Holy Spirit breathed and so can impart life to the soul that reads and assimilates it. This is the difference. Whatever the source will bring forth the fruits of the source. When you assimilate Spirit inspired words then those words will ring forth Spirit filled life. Jesus quoted scripture because He knew scripture but He was also the author of those words. When the author speaks the words He imparts the spirit of the word to the receiver. Whatever spirit inspires will be transmitted to the receiver. You are spirit and therefore your words can produce death or life. Jesus spoke the word and death was defeated and life was formed. So also as you read His word, His life becomes birthed in you which is food for your soul. Many are the words that are spoken by holy men but they cannot produce life. They are streams of knowledge that are good for the intellect but does not produce life. When you believe that His word produces life then life is birthed in you. The seed that is planted in you is what will produce fruit. So as you live by faith, let the words of scripture so feed you so that your faith in His word can produce the fruit of His living word. His life within His word will produce the fruits of His word in your life. This is the word of the Lord.

5 positions and associated emtional states

Five positions and associated states

There are 5 positions that one can take in relationships. The first position is the narcissistic or self-centred position. In this position all the thoughts and associated feelings are experienced from a self-centred view. It is the I position and therefore the I is the centre and everything else is secondary. One cannot see beyond what is beyond the self. The other is not important and everything is seen in terms of what is good for only I. This is the position of looking after no.1 and everyone else is just a number to be used and abused to serve one’s own self interest. Perceptions of others are distorted because the other is viewed from the position of how I feel and think. There is no consideration of how it affects the other. Many in crisis regress to this position and get trapped and entangled and confused by the plethora of thoughts and feelings which may be related to childhood states.
The second position is the empathic position. This position enables one to walk in the other’s shoes. This enables one to try and picture how the other feels and thinks. It puts one’s own feelings aside and seeks to understand rather then to be understood. One moves from a position of stuckness in self to a position of negotiation or compromise. This is important to enable one to forgive and be able to love another. It’s a position of sacrificing one’s own needs and being prepared to meet the need of the other. This is a crucial shift in building relationships. Without this ability it is difficult to negotiate change. Autistics are stuck in the first position and are unable to shift to a second position to appreciate how one’s behaviour affects the other.
The third position is the objective position. From this position one is able to view a relationship from a interactive perspective i.e the ability to see how an action leads to a reaction that then leads to a style of interaction that keeps the individuals involved in negativity. This position also enables one to distance oneself from the object to see the other as separate from oneself. This separation is important to enable one to set boundaries and be able to manage emotional states of the other and not be entangled or sucked into the negative states of others. Emotions are powerful modes of communication and it is so easy to get carried away by the feelings of others, unless one is able to distance oneself and be objective. This is the therapist position which enables the therapist to view the interaction objectively so as to enable change to occur. Without this objectivity the therapist will get sucked in and therefore lose his/her ability to be helpful to manage change. When this happens then the therapist needs help to pull back and regain balance otherwise he/she will become part of the problem rather then part of the solution. Supervision can be one way to enable one to get unstuck. Long term therapy can be due to this situation where the therapist becomes part of the problem and no change occurs. The negative feelings of the client have so entrapped the therapist that confusion and chaos becomes part of the therapist’s dilemma. To regain distance and balance the therapist needs help to extricate himself from this chaos. Teams can likewise get stuck in this way and need direction to develop into a more healthy mode of operation. A team that is chaotic is a sign of such stuckness. A healthy team will be able to respect it’s members and empower and enable individuals in the team to develop their own skills and giftings.
The fourth position is systemic. In this position one is able to see the whole and not just the parts. In this position one is able to see how the whole is more then the sum of the parts. This is the ability to see how internal and external sub systems impact on the system to enable it to function well or otherwise. It is the ability to position oneself at the boundary of a system to see how the internal and external forces impact on the function of the system. This is where leaders need to be positioned and be the boundary keepers to enable their teams to function well. The team can only function as well as the internal and external threats are managed in an effective manner. A team can crumple under internal stress or external stress. Boundary keepers are essential for families and teams to survive in a hostile environment. Leadership is called to account when these boundaries are not well managed.
The fifth position is the God centred position. This is to view all systems from God’s position. This is the ability to be above all worldly systems and to see the position from the Creator’s perspective. This enables one to move away from the systems that ground one to this earthly form of government to one where God is seen as the one in control. From His perspective all the chaos and evil in this world has a purpose which is eternal and not just limited by time and place. This is a creative position that enables one to be secure in the knowledge that all things work for good. In this position all suffering and evil is seen as working together to achieve good in the end. It enables one to see the higher plan and not be limited by time and place. In God’s position time and space are unlimited, that is, eternal – no beginning and no end. Operating from this position leads to altruism or the ability to be emptied of self and be able to see one as created for a purpose and a destiny.
The ability to move freely between these positions is the mark of true maturity. This is also the way to live and not just exist. It is this ability that will lead to higher functioning of individuals and families that will enable society to change for good and not for evil.

Walking in the Spirit

Faith demands a walking by intuition rather then by sight. Intuition is the inner ability to see from God’s perspective then from the senses. This is to walk in the Spirit then in the flesh. To walk in the Spirit is to be able to intuit in the spirit and this is a different dimension to the one in the flesh. To walk in the Spirit is life and that abundant. Many give lip service to the things of the Spirit. The Spirit is living and lives on even when you are not aware of His presence. However Godly men and women learnt to live by the Spirit and therefore they belonged to another world. They were walking on earth but living in the heavenlies. This is what brings the dimension of the Spirit to earth. To live in love is to live in the Spirit. In the Spirit anything is possible. It is possible to surpass time and space. In this dimension all that is earthly becomes like dust compared to the world of the spirit. Therefore walk in the Spirit and do not give into the desires of the flesh which are carnal and deadly. To live in the Spirit is to be anaesthetised to the things of the flesh. Your joy is to spend time in the spirit to reap of the goodness of the promised land, a land of milk and honey. This is a state of dependence on the Spirit to provide for all your needs through His resources and not just the resources of the physical realm. To operate in this realm is to experience God and to be known by Him. To be known of Him is the greatest reward of walking in the Spirit.

Deal with your own problems of control, rejection, envy, pride etc. before dealing with the problems of another. If you fail to deal with your own demons then it is easy to see it always in the other. This will then lead to a blinkered view of others, mainly in the negative. It is only when you are aware of your own faults that you can separate your own faults from that of the other. People who are quick to judge fail to see their own faults. People who are over sensitive are too quick to judge the intentions of the other. Therefore be tuned in to your reactions for they are an indicator of the state of your own heart. If you are unable to respond in love, then this is an indicator that you need deliverance from whatever is troubling you. Relationships are a means to arouse feelings that usually are submerged. It takes a relationship to arouse feelings. A man can never know him-self by himself. It is only in relationship that a man is known. Therefore cherish relationships especially those that arouse a lot of negative feelings, for in this is your path to healing. Many avoid these relationships because of the feelings aroused in one. You should do just the opposite and seek to heal yourself through these difficult relation-ships. Jesus came into the world to relate with sinners and redeem them through His self sacrifice. This is the way you have to walk too to redeem yourself from your evil self. Yes call what is evil, evil; then you can take action to dispel it rather then compromise and tolerate it. Live in your new identity in Christ rather then in the old identity in the flesh.

13/1/06 Present relationship conflicts are re-workings of past relationships with parent figures
It is in close relationships that conflict arises that mirror conflicts with parent figures. All conflicts in relationships are a mirror of conflicts with parent figures. These are reworkings of conflicts and power relationships that have caused hurt and despair. The only way of healing and freedom from this is to surrender them to the Lord. Distance yourself so that you don’t get pulled into that emotional arena where you lose control. Observe and see how they tend to replicate past relationships. Now let the healing love of Christ redeem that situation and see how your perceptions change over time. No more do those fantasies continue to plague you. You are free to be and not be controlled or controlling. This is the way forward. Present relationships have to be broken and remade so that these repetitions do not occur. Power relationships especially are prone to be repeated as they are past power struggles with authority figures. Positioning yourself in Jesus enables you to take the Christ position and love at all times and think the best and not the worst. Remember you are a king and a priest in the household of God. Think this and be this in all relationships and see how your relationships are transformed in the present. When old feelings are aroused remember they are just illusions and do not give into those feelings but arise and conquer in the Name and blood of Jesus.

God consciousness leads to respect for all of God’s creation. It is the lack of God consciousness that leads to rebellion and all the sins in society. It is a return to God consciousness that will lead to a restoration of law and peace in the land. Without God there will be anarchy in the family and in government. What you are witnessing is a trend towards anarchy in society and the children are running wild. There is a replacement of God consciousness with a morality made by man which has no standard. All standards are arbitrary as there is nothing which is seen as absolute. When one moves away from the law of absolutes then one finds oneself in a sea of confusion. This is what happened at the tower of Babel. The one language united the people and produced power that took them beyond God consciousness. The confusion of languages dispersed the people into different language groups. This then diminished their power. So also when there is no accepted standard then life becomes a merry go round and nothing stands for much. Moral values are all relative to the situation. The court system becomes a battle field as the judges have no standards to judge by. This then leads to anarchy and a return for God consciousness which will restore peace and trust. This is the story of nations that have rejected God and gone their own way. This is the story of the human race. The battle will continue for the devil and God are pitched against each other till the end of this age. Trust in the Lord till the end and do not be distracted by the vile of man.

11/1/06 In relationship with yourself, use your head, in relationship with others, use your heart.
The management of your emotions is critical to your well being. Managing your emotions is the key to success in every area of your life. This is primarily true in managing your feelings in response to your own thoughts. Your thoughts fire up your feelings and this then sends you downhill confused and distraught. The way to manage your feelings then is to use your head and not your heart. Your heart is helpless in this situation because it is confused and lacks direction. Your head has to come to the rescue and enable yourself to distance from your feelings and take direction to help you come out of it. Therefore if you feel rejected then your head has to take a step back and analyse where this feeling is coming from, the past, present or the devil. This enables you to observe and then to decide on the possible action. If from the past then offer it up to Jesus who will pour His love to heal those feelings. If in the present then see the rejecting person as needing help and healing. If from the devil then bind and cast him out.
In relationships it is important to listen with the heart. You are then tuning into the heart of the other. It is using your heart to tune into the other’s feelings. It is not your feeling you are dealing with but the other’s. Because it is the other’s feelings you need to empathise and not judge. Judgement comes when you use your head rather then your heart. It is easy to judge another as you only see superficially and not deeply with understanding. This is why many feel judged because especially in husband/wife relationships the husband fails to listen with his heart. Listening with the heart is the key to building relationships. This is to listen and to reflect on what the other is saying. In this way you bond with each other emotionally. Reflecting enables the other to feel accepted and in this is healing.

The constant pressure of negative thoughts is a key that you are alive and in a battle. The battle is to reduce you to nothing so that you can reign in Christ. The devil is out to discourage and destroy those who are in the battle for his territory whether human or otherwise. He will try and deceive and fool you to choose the easy way out. You must stay the course and not give in to his tactics. Offensive love is the only way to live. Defensive action does not lead anywhere. By faith you take the risk and move forward trusting in God to supply for your needs. The only people who went anywhere are the movers and not the stayers. Stayers are people who live defensively wanting to keep the peace at any cost. They are bound by fear without knowing it. God has given you all you need to live a victorious life despite the opposition. Let Satan down and lift Jesus up and all your enemies will flee from you. You have to take the land by active invasion. No one got anything or anywhere by sitting down. You have to move the boundaries of your inheritance to claim more for the Lord. There is safety in your inheritance but God has more for you. Enter in and reach your destiny in God.

Walking by faith

Walking by faith is to trust completely. This trust does not come suddenly. It is built over time. Each step of faith, trusting God to do what you cannot do, is a step of faith. This is the way you can build your life. Any other way will only build fear. See how far you have come by knowing that you have let go of everything that is your security. This is true freedom. You can live now knowing that you have all the resources in heaven within you. All you need to do is to ask and it will be given to you, pressed down and overflowing. This is the abundant life that Jesus has promised. The devil will try and steal and destroy. Just be persistent in your belief that the demon of control will let go and you will be free. It’s when you can see the work of this demon that will enable you to trust God then self. Displace self and replace with God and His gifts. If God is for you who can be against you. No one or thing can over rule God. Therefore during this time pray for deliverance and the devil will let go and you will be free.

Tapping your inner resources enables you to overcome in all situations. Many rely on external resources for survival. You have the Holy Spirit within you as a resource for all your needs including the physical. This is how the saints sur-vived starvation and physical torture and extreme physical deprivation. It is the Spirit within that is the source of life. Once the Spirit leaves, the body is dead. The devil has de-ceived you and the world by making you think that only the physical is important. However this is not the truth. The Spirit is the real source of your breath. The physical realm is limited to the extent to which it can heal and restore life. It is the Spirit within that gives you the thoughts and the feelings to go through life victorious. Never be distracted by the physical. In a materialistic world view only the physical is important. However this is a blinkered view. The physical world is just what you see. There is a larger unseen world that you have entrance to and the spiritually blind cannot see this world. Now tap into your inner resources and begin to live in a new dimension that is above this material world.

Live for the moment and each moment believe that God is using you for good. Therefore do not entertain any form of negativity for God is not in the negative. Just use it as an opportunity for healing and restoration in the spirit as you surrender all to God. When you are at peace, then all around you will be at peace too. The main focus of your attention should be on your own internal state. Once you are in a stable state then you will be able to think clearly and see clearly. The Holy Spirit will then be able to plant thoughts into you that will enable you to do the right thing. Remember all your thoughts are your own till they are shared with another. Reality is tested when you share with another. Otherwise you can be blinded by your own thoughts. It is in communication of your thoughts that enables you to separate the wheat from the chaff. Communication also enables you to rise above the conflicting thoughts and feelings that sometimes block your channel of communication. It’s like letting the water flow out of a blocked pipe. The water cleanses the pipe so that water can flow freely. If you find yourself blocked then the best way to unblock is through sharing with another. This is why God has called you to be part of a community so that you can build and support each other. Everything belongs to God and therefore you have nothing that you can call your own. At death you can’t take anything with you. Therefore live like a dead man in relationship with the things of this world. There is nothing permanent in this world. Therefore invest in things of eternal value like love and peace and joy.

5/1/06 Changing old patterns through love.
The only way to break out from the old patterns is to consistently operate in the new pattern. Old patterns are so ingrained that they are on automatic pilate. It is so easy for the old patterns to emerge even after years of retraining. This is the way you have been patterned to learn and store information and behaviours reinforced by authority figures. This is why the fear of authority is so powerful to induce change. Parent figures are powerful in setting down these patterns from early age and they form the hard wiring of behaviours for life. Until a concerted effort is made to reject these unhealthy patterns and lay down new patterns, the old will rule. In Jesus Name these patterns can be changed through the help of His Holy Spirit. His Spirit works through love and not fear. Thus when you approach an old pattern and replace it with a new pattern in love, the latter is more powerful to displace the old pattern. Whatever is done in love does last and patterns that are sown in love will bring about lasting change. This is why lasting behaviour change can only occur in an environment of love. Fear can only be displaced through love. Childhood fears of authority figures continue into old age. Therefore even the old need to be loved to help them change their old patterns. This is why communist regimes that try and change the masses through fear have not lasted. Fear can only cause temporary change for love will always win out in the end.

True freedom in relationships occurs when a person is able to separate himself from the other by respecting the other as separate from himself. It’s projections of self on to the other that lead to a lot of problems in relationships. This separation comes about by keeping oneself tuned into one’s own negative thoughts and feelings. When one does this then there is less need to project those feelings onto an-other. Stability in relationships are maintained through projections. This is unhealthy but as immature persons we tend to do this unconsciously. This is why the family is protective as well as destructive. Protective in that someone else in the family colludes with the projections and main-tains the stability in the family but at a cost. For example someone takes the blame for your projections of guilt and negative feelings. This excuses you of your own behaviour as it blames the other for your problems or feeling states. It is how families handle and moderate these mutual projec-tions that lead some to survive and others to destroy. These projections are outside one’s conscious control and after a while control you and your family. Separation enables one to see these feelings as emanating from oneself and not from the other. Your reactions are a product of your own thoughts and feelings. This is why it is easier to get on with those who you are not emotionally connected with. This is why many fear commitment because of seeing this as a life sentence. Only the emotionally mature are able to take re-sponsibility for their own thoughts and feelings and desist from projecting their own negative feelings on to the other. This is what will bring real change and healing. Confession enables one to separate from the other person’s own feel-ings. Many times when one confesses one’s feelings. It then enables the other to move to acknowledge those feelings or accept the confessor and his thoughts and feelings. In both instances trust is built through mutual confession and ac-ceptance.
In emotionally close people these projections can also occur at distances and when one is not in their immediate pres-ence. This is why moving away does not help deal with these feelings as they follow you around and are alive even when the person is dead and gone. These feelings have to be confronte. In this way you take ownership for these feelings and in this is healing. Even if are identifying with the pro-jections of another it is still your responsibility to own those feelings.
A therapist is distanced from the patient and therefore is able to separate his own feeling states from that of the pa-tient. He is therefore able to reflect those feelings that he perceives from the patient back to the patient and in this way help the patient to take responsibility for his negative feelings and thoughts.

Faith sees and receives accordingly

Trusting God is to trust someone outside yourself. This is healthy and leads to the development of trust in others. It’s more difficult to trust someone you don’t see then someone you can see. Trust in God is called faith. However this faith is based on facts and experience. It is not just faith based on fantasy. Whatever you put your faith in will produce within you the characteristics of the one you put your faith in. If in love then love will be produced. If in guilt then guilt will be produced. This is the law of imitation. Imitate Christ and Christ will be produced in you. The characteristics of love and joy are the product of imitation. If you want to have characteristics of a winner then imitate one. Focus on what you want and you will receive this through faith. Faith is the key to abundance especially in the spirit but also in the physical. Jesus walked by faith. You have the gift of faith and this conflicts with your senses. However when faith wins then you receive what is not sensed. To lead a supernatural life requires the leap of faith. This is to walk on water. You cannot walk on water by relying on your senses. It takes faith to walk on water. Therefore today walk by faith and see your mountains become level ground. In all areas of your life exercise the gift of faith and you will move in a new dimension and produce the works of faith.

Holy Spirit, the Comforter

The Holy Spirit is the one you need to live a life of abundance. There is no other way to live an abundant life. He fuels your thoughts and the result is that He energises you to live by faith and expect the best. He does not procrastinate or allow you to dwell on the past but in the present. He is the one who will lead you into green pastures and enable you to rest when all around you is in turmoil. He gives you the peace and the love to stand in the midst of trouble. Nothing will go wrong as you commit all to Him. All your worries and cares are due to lack of trust. All your future is in His hands. There is no fear in perfect love. He is perfect love and in Him there is no fear of the future. You know from the past that He can be trusted. He has opened the way where there was no way. He is the one who has brought you to this place today. He is the one who can be trusted to lead you all the way. No one can take this joy from you. When you are alone, He is there. No wonder you enjoy these moments the most because He is in the most intimate association with you during these times. No one enjoys pain. So be pleasurable and enjoy the small things in life. Be a person who is interested in others to deposit something of eternity in them. His presence in you will rub off on others as you rest in Him. Take on the challenges of the day and do not fear rejection because you are shielded by His love. No man gets anywhere by standing still. You have to go to get the job done. The Holy Spirit is with you and therefore you can depend on Him to help you. If nothing happens then continue to rest for that is the best thing to do. There is no place like being one with Him. He is the centre of your being and in Him is joy everlasting. You can be assured that at all times He is with you and in you and will never leave you or forsake you. Money cannot buy His presence. So rest in Him and be filled.

Life is so full and all it takes is a trust in God to experience the abundance therein. Without God life is a drudgery. Each day is an existence and there is nothing to look for-ward to. With God there is hope and hope gives life even in the smallest event or situation. Life is power that brings life into a situation. Death works to deprive and exhaust. So choose life with God and His abundance will flow into you.
You have a choice to live in the love of God or in darkness. The light of the love of God shed abroad in your hearts is what will lead to abundance. You create this life by your visualisation of your future in God. What you visualise will come to pass because you have the creative power in you as a god given gift. This gift needs to be exercised to bear fruit. God saw, spoke the word and creative forces went into ac-tion to bring forth the object of what He saw. You too will see with God’s mind and bring forth abundance. This is the only way to live – creatively. The rest is death and decay. People of God trust Him and therefore will live. Others will poison themselves to death. Where there is life there is hope and He will not disappoint.
